OK I keep trying to get this out to as many people as possible so here goes again.
The one major controlling factor with climate on this planet, and all the others, is the sun. Not el nino, not anything else. The sun has the greatest influence on climate of all.
The sun has recently swung into a 200 year period of reduced activity. The minor warming trend seen in the late 20th century was the end of the previous cycle. This is a scenario that has been known for only a few years, and has been ignored completely by the global warming/climate change scammers.
Their primary goal is milking us for more tax dollars by claiming a worldwide climate emergency, and scaring the entire world into allowing a global solution...a world government.
Keep an eye on the Newsmax TV channel, they periodically air a documentary called “Dark Winter”. It’s based on a book of the same name written by John Casey, one of the climate scientists who originally bought the global warming idea then realized the truth, after looking at the actual facts instead of Al Gore’s lies.
Solar activity fluctuates according to several cycles, a major one being about 200 years. This 200 year cycle just recently changed, from an increased level of solar activity and sunspots to a decreased one. The last couple, 200 and 400 years ago, resulted in what have been called a mini ice ages lasting around 30 to 50 years. In one case the Thames River in England was frozen over and people were ice skating on it. The harsh winters that hindered Napoleon’s army were a result of a solar minimum.
The past 2 winters here in the US were a preamble to what is coming. 2013 Atlanta freeways froze over, cars stuck for days, Atlanta had almost no experience with this kind of cold and it was a major news story for a week, thousands of people stranded on the iced over roads.
Last winter was particularly harsh in the northeast, record snowfall in places like Boston. That was news all winter.
Expect more of the same, this winter is being predicted to be another harsh one according to reports I’ve seen recently.
We’re looking at 30 years or more of seriously cold winters. Polar ice caps melting? Nope. What the climate change liars are not telling you is that when NASA first started taking satellite pictures of the ice caps they were actually about 5% larger than normal, and when they decreased to about 5% less than normal a few years later, that was a normal cycle, not a catastrophe. Remember the survey ship stuck in the ice just a couple of years ago? How is it the ice caps are melting but ships are getting stuck in it? At present, the ice caps are back to above normal, according to NASA photo records. Al Gore said they would be totally gone by 2013. That would mean right now New York and Miami should both be under 10 feet of water.
Average temperatures have been actually declining in the slightly past 15 years. Not more than about 1º F or so, but definitely not getting warmer. Global warming did not allow for any stalling at all. Much less any even slight cooling.
Look it up, learn a little about what is actually happening. Nothing on earth is causing climate fluctuations, the sun controls the climate, always has. Fluctuations have occurred for billions of years. CO² has nothing to do with it. CO² levels during previous eras has been up to 3000 times what it is now, at the same time temperatures were actually cooler. I think the Cambrian period was one of those, if I remember it correctly.

You are correct, of course, on a global scale.
There were a few instances in past history where you could walk across Long Island Sound. It has to stay below zero for a few weeks for that to be possible.
The local effects of an El Nino and a decreasing AMO will produce some interesting local effects, like lots of snow on the east coast.
Rochester will regret piling all that snow up last winter. It hasn’t all melted yet, and indeed will go down in history as the beginning core of the Rochester Glaciation.
...or maybe not, but in any case, it is/will be caused by Global Warming.
