Everyone in the University community has the right to study, teach, conduct research, and work free from acts and expressions of intolerance.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to include the sort of intolerance the University of California itself proposes to practice. No one has a right to avoid hearing anything that might offend or insult them, and a very important part of a university education is to expose young minds to challenging new thoughts that might very well offend or insult them. This is an embarrassment to the University of California and it's alumni - of which I'm a member.

It’s an embarrassment to me as a native Californian, where my generation supposedly fought for freedom of expression.
