Maybe somebody more versed in marine vertebrate zoology could explain this to me. I can see the “huge temperature change” if this shark was killed by a mammal (killer whale?) but would that happen if it were killed by a huge shark? I thought sharks were cold-blooded?

I always wondered if Orcas eat great whites. I mean, they way outclass them for size and power. I think they are just as fast.
I once heard a wild rumor that if shark flipped upside down, it would go into temporary paralysis. It wouldn’t surprise me, the way Orcas hunt seals, if some Orca pods have learned to flip sharks for an easy meal.
Or maybe it is a sea monster, which at least gets your imagination going.

“It showed this profile going down the shelf to 580 meters, then a huge temperature change ... another living animal,”
To have the huge temperature change, it would make sense that it was a whale, as they are warm blooded.

Not sure if it’s been definitively established, but I wonder if it could be the work of sperm whales. Their preferred diet consists of giant squid, but they are also pretty fearsome predators in their own right.

Shark meat can be little dry, you need to wrap it in bacon before cooking.

We’re talking a different scale here.
You would have to stuff a whole hog
with shark meat.
Some shark is pretty good if you treat it right
when caught.
