My feeling is that Trump would turn out like Arnold Schwarzenegger turned out in California - ineffective in turning the enormous ship of state that is modern government.
Trump would need the support 8f the public to Cantor much of Congress.
Except for grandiosity, I see little in common between those two men’s personalities. I think too that Trump’s -need- to win will make him a far more able executive than Schwarzenegger.
I thought Scwartzenegger operated as a chameleon because he knew that after Sacramento he’d be going back to Hollywood, and he didn’t want to offend any of his fans. But in doing that, he offended all his conservative voters.
I think the real reason was that his wife had him henpecked and browbeat him regarding gubmint policy. So to get back at her he played whoopyhide with the Latino hosekeeper.
Note to Maria: Life’s full of trade-offs. God put men in charge. You usurp that, you’ll pay a price. Not always exactly like in your case, but when you usurp God’s will, which is actually obeying the devil, there’s always an unpleasant result.
Arnold wasn't ineffective, he was for the most part in lock step with the liberal agenda, going as far as to put moonbeams enviro nazi Nichols back in charge of the ARB. All the governator really wanted was to be another Kennedy.
ANYONE WOULD BE BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAVE NOW.....
My feeling is that Trump would turn out like Arnold Schwarzenegger turned out in CaliforniaPC is a feeling, "Feelings" is exactly what's wrong with us today.
Other than they're both celebrities, how in the world could you ever even think to compare the two.
The personalities and the intellect alone are miles apart. Schwarzenegger is a dimwit by comparison.
Schwarzenegger was taken over and brainwashed by GOPe advisors and even former governor Pete Wilson. He was nothing more than their experimental puppet.
But when push comes to shove, where are you going to put your chips?
Arnold Promised to get certain Reform issues on the Ballot during his Candidacy and he did. Whatever the reason he was Elected, that alone was an accomplishment here is CA.
Once the Propositions were set for a Vote, Arnold seemed to lose energy in pushing for them because of the massive Propaganda effort and big bucks being spent by the Government Employee Unions. The advertising against Arnold's Reform Measures was relentless.
I think he actually felt that his support in just being Elected would carry through to get his ideas passed. IMHO, he just didn't think that he had continue to fight after he was Elected. It was a fatal error on his part. All four of the Measures Arnold had promised to get onto the Ballot when he was running for Governor failed at the Ballot Box. Can't remember the final tally, but I think that all the Measures lost by a small margin. The Propaganda spewed by the Unions took its toll.
The thought here was that Arnold didn't go out and fight enough to win Public Support. He was very naive in thinking that his Election alone would insure the same People who Voted for him would support the Legislation he promoted.
There obviously weren't enough Voters to overcome the Employee Unions and the Democrats. (one in the same) After the loss, Arnold just folded his Tent saying it was the will of the People. That did it for him and he was perceived as weak and ineffective as Governor after that. Arnold couldn't deliver the goods, but he tried. The only consolation is that we could have ended up with Bustamante.
Trump on the other had, again IMHO, works hard to get what he wants done. I don't see him sitting back while other people just propose crap knowing they will get his Signature on a Bill. The GOPe, if they are still running Congress in 2017 are in for a big surprise should Trump become POTUS. Trump would have no problem gaining Public Support to get those guys off their Buts. As an aside, we all know Obama is just one lazy POS. He doesn't do any of the work, he just signs off on it and them takes credit. The Choom King's experience of Scooping Ice Cream at Baskin Robbins for a Month didn't translate to a Work Ethic. Like Trump or hate him, he is not a Lazy POS. I am actually amazed to see him everywhere he is invited, or not invited for that matter, pushing his Candidacy. He seems relentless. I don't see any comparison the Trump's Candidacy whatsoever.
