Ted Cruz fighting Vichy Republicans on Planned Parenthood
American Thinker ^ | September 11, 2015 | Ed Straker

Posted on 09/11/2015 9:51:45 AM PDT by Isara

---

...then there must be another article in Politico about Republican efforts to politically assassinate Ted Cruz. For everyone who thinks only Donald Trump (or the amnesty loving Ben Carson) are the only genuine outsiders who have the credentials to fight the Washington DC establishment, read about the one man who has actually been doing it. Once again Ted Cruz is trying to defund Planned Parenthood, and once again Vichy Republicans are gearing up to frag Cruz's big tent:

Ted Cruz says his hard-line strategy to defund Planned Parenthood and risk a government shutdown is about doing the “right thing” and following through on Republicans' vows to conservative voters.

But many of his Republican colleagues say it’s really all about Cruz.

Yes, it is really about Cruz. It's about their hatred of him. And if you think defunding the abortion mills is "hard line," perhaps you might prefer Kelly Ayotte's "soft line" views about acquiesing in funding virtual infanticide instead:

---

Hey, there's a conservative voice, right? Wrong! Pushing a separate standalone bill would be meaningless. It would never get the 60 votes needed in the Senate to fight filibusters. The Planned Parenthood funding, by contrast, is must-pass, and can be stopped with only 51 votes, and Johnson knows that, but he wants to distract attention with his own symbolic bill because he has no stomach for a fight with Obama.

People say that Ted Cruz will not win this battle and they are right; how can he, when most Democrats and Republicans are against him? But the fact he is willing to wage this fight, even alone, shows he has persistence, shows he is a fighter, and shows he has real beliefs. And guess what? He's been doing this for years, even before he ran for President.

Yes it is. Unfortunately those types don't win elections anymore.

Well he did win the election where he was elected a Senator from Texas.

Winning an election in Texas and winning a nationwide election are two completely different things.

True, but Cruz got a lower percentage of the popular vote than Mediocre Massachusetts Mitt, who was perhaps the least appealing Republican candidate possible.

Winning an election in August of 2015 and in November are two completely different things.

There, fixed it for you.

so when the GOP e counters Trump, they’re evil, but when they vote against Cruz, they’re legit votes?

Glad we exposed your hypocritical double standard.

Oh, and another thing wrong with your analogy - is that Cruz didn’t get to run against Obama, who is widely hated in Texas. I bet Cruz gets 65% versus Obama in Texas.

The problems with your analogy just keep piling up.

Cruz is “wildly popular” in Texas.

A liberal from Massachusetts...even more apparently.

Vichy France anthem to be adapted by McConnell for Senate Republicans. With the Iran Vote appeasement, it seems appropriate... Bow down to one Fascist leader in DC like the French did to another in Berlin 70 years earlier... No one will notice that it is sung in French, 'cause Spanish songs are in vogue now, Particularly with the ex-Governor of Florida.

Look moron, I’ll type slowly so you can understand.

Cruz is wildly popular in Texas, more so than Mitt by a mile. Mitt was running against someone who was WILDLY HATED in Texas. In case your teeny tiny brain didn’t know it, there are TWO sides to an election......TWO CANDIDATES.

Mitt’s opponent had trashed Texas for four years going into 2012. Mitt’s opponent had been openly at war with Texas for four years .Mitt’s opponent didn’t even TRY to win Texas.

To compare those two is to demonstrate the shallow attempt by someone who doesn’t understand the whole picture.

And today, Cruz would probably get 65% in Texas.

C’mon CEW, Mediocre Massachusetts Mitt was probably the weakest possible candidate the Republicans could field.
Crony Capitalist, Obamacare icon, etc. Likely powered to victory in the primaries by crossover Dem operatives looking to install the softest target for November. Just like they hope to power Jeb Bush to victory this time.

you keep missing the point.....and it’s either because it’s over your head, or you’re missing it on purpose.

I don’t care to waste my time with either psychoses.

Ted can fight valiantly, but Vichy wins every time with the GOP!

Didn't Romney outpoll him in November 2012 in TX? TX has a lot of liberals in crevices waiting to come out in force when the time is right.
