Don’t the majority of babies with anencephaly not even survive birth? And, those that do, most don’t survive a year? So, are you saying the costs associated with these births are not worth it?

They are, IN FACT, human. Parents of these children may beg to differ with your statement.
The parent’s grief is what I mentioned. I would never try to “convince” parents to do something they were not inclined to do. I certainly would not share my perspective with them in an effort to bias their decision. They have to live with their decision. I have to live with mine. The best way I could “reconcile” my conscience was to recognize that in a very few cases sometimes what is there is not human.
You are correct, there have been a handful of anencephalics live and the last time I looked the record was 12 months. What do you tell the parents when the ultrasound shows this? You tell me.
