This is the position that will defeat Carson:

“Is it moral for us, for example, to take advantage of cheap labor from illegal immigrants while denying them citizenship? I’m sure you can tell from the way I phrased the question that I believe we have taken the moral low road on this issue. Some segments of our economy would virtually collapse without these undocumented workers—we all know that—yet we continue to harass and deport many individuals who are simply seeking a better life for themselves and their families.”

In other words, it looks like nothing would change on illegal immigration under a Carson Presidency.

Planned Parenthood is a lie just as everything libtards produce. When medically indicated an evacuation of the uterus is something any competent OB/GYNS can do safely. There is no reason to establish or proliferate abortion factories. When abortion is desired for convenience it is, IMHO, murder. Don’t get me wrong. It may be splitting hairs but in my mind when what is in the uterus ain’t human it should come out. Anencephalic embryos and a handful of other cases are what I am referring to. Convenience of the parents, no.

I simply cannot reconcile the idea that a guy who claims to be pro-life would nonetheless refer patients to an abortionist.

NOBODY who is truly pro-life would EVER do that for ANY reason.

The parent’s grief is what I mentioned. I would never try to “convince” parents to do something they were not inclined to do. I certainly would not share my perspective with them in an effort to bias their decision. They have to live with their decision. I have to live with mine. The best way I could “reconcile” my conscience was to recognize that in a very few cases sometimes what is there is not human.

You are correct, there have been a handful of anencephalics live and the last time I looked the record was 12 months. What do you tell the parents when the ultrasound shows this? You tell me.

Carson, a retired pediatric neurosurgeon, has referred women to doctors who perform abortions, was a trustee of a foundation that gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to Planned Parenthood, and his campaign struggles to articulate which legal restrictions he supports on the procedure. Carson’s history on the issue is shaped by his medical background: Decisions he made decades ago — about referring women carrying fetuses with genetic defects to doctors willing to perform abortions, and conducting research using fetal tissue — came in the context of making complex medical decisions

That bit “was a trustee..” is troubling but I think I would want to know more there. Was he one of twenty whose objections were over ruled and this was a small fraction of what was being done? I don’t know. I am not willing to put my intellect on hold because of an emotional response even if I would like too. I think it more likely this is a typical enemedia hit. We shall see.

Who is asking you to put your intellect on hold? I’m expecting you to use it.

I have NO PROBLEM with Carson or his thoughtful position.

Abortion, especially of viable babies and the butchery of partial birth abortions and organ harvesting that Planned Parenthood sponsors is a horrible evil.

This is an incredibly personal issue to me, as my mother was created by an older man raping a 14 year old girl. At the time, my mom was given up for adoption and her adopted parents raised her in a loving environment to lead a full life. Today, the way our culture is, she would surely have been butchered in the womb of that young rape victim.

Planned Parenthood and the Democrats that support it claim that the agency uses the federal funding for mammograms and women's health screening. That is a lie of omission and redirection.

Planned Parenthood does do a good and socially valuable job of providing STD testing and contraceptive distribution in many communities.

The question that should be debated is how to continue the STD screening and contraceptive distribution work that Planned Parenthood does and how to change the abortion laws so that the butchery and evil organ harvesting done by Planned Parenthood is stopped.

I hope I am. I am just not willing to see Carson take a “cheap shot” as I posted. I understand the position of those who feel “abortion is never indicated”. I believe I have had experience that tells me different. No question the phrase “medical necessity” has been thoroughly abused. As a “classical liberal” and a Christian I see the problem as arising from the feral gummint getting involved in things they should not have. In this area as in many others the progressives have created more problems by gummint intervention than we’re present before they got involved. I suspect that, bearing Cloward Piven in mind, these things have been done intentionally.

The parent’s grief is what I mentioned.

You also mentioned “that’s not human” regarding babies with anencephaly.

I strongly disagree with that statement.

The truth.

Had you ever heard of anencephaly before today?

Not making an accusation, just curious. The truth is all I have ever shared with folks. I also have to recognize my bias and do my best to keep my bias out of it.
