.Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus are demanding that the Obama administration send side deals between Iran and international nuclear inspectors to Congress as part of the Iran deal now under consideration. Opponents of the deal have argued that the clock on congressional consideration of the deal has not even begun until these side deals are submitted.
Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) has offered a resolution that would prevent a vote on the Iran deal until all of the documents of the international agreement — including the deals between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are provided to Congress for review.

If I’m reading that correctly, they’re essentially going to turn McCarthy’s point into a matter of mere symbolism — i.e. “yes, Obama didn’t comply with the Corker bill by submitting all elements of the agreement, but we’re going to go ahead and vote on it anyway.” McCarthy’s strategy is designed, I thought, to stop this process in its tracks before the GOP’s resolution dies in the Senate. Instead it’s being treated as a minor hiccup, something that can be footnoted as the original plan to vote this week is carried out.

I thought before they left for the vacation 5 weeks ago, they were planning on voting for a new speaker to get rid of Boehner. What happened to this?
It’s called the “Play Like You Are Fighting” plan to con voters again.
All text needs to be submitted and published on the web for 2 weeks in advance of the vote. The text in both languages so an independent translation and concurrencey of same can be evaluated before it is rejected. JF’nK needs to be flushed out as one of the worst negotiators of all time.
Here is what I know about the “do we or don’t we” vote issue:
1. The Senate is going to vote and the Dems will filibuster. That will succeed so the bill will never be sent to Obama.
2. If the House fails to vote due to the failure of Obama to provide the full text of the Side Deals then the bill also fails to go Obama but is somehow magically Null and Void and we have a “victory”.
Anyone who really understands this should give the FR community a nice compact explanation of the above or perhaps correct it.
Today is day 499 left for Obama in office. Can this bill be jacked around for 500 days.
House and Senate supposed to have 60 days after all the text is delivered INCLUDING side agreements? And if the House has no side agreement, then the clock hasn’t started.
We only get to vote no….and it does not count….so Obama gets what he wants…they are that stupid I guess

I 426 more days of 0bama on my calendar. I cannot take one extra day of him.
I believe a non vote is the best course, because Obama can’t veto that, fail to have it overridden, and then have it become law.
If a law never makes it to a vote, then it never becomes law.
We are then, theoretically at least, dealing with an executive action at worst, and the Senate insisting on the constitutional treaty provision at best.
I don’t see how the money to Iran can be release with only an executive agreement. I thought the Congress had to be party to the release of that money.
You say that like he was actually TRYING to get a good deal for the US. We all know that releasing the Iran funds and nuclear program were the end game for both sides, and he was trying to meet the bare minimums on what could even remotely be considered "negotiations".

I can partly clear up one point:
By refusing to vote on the ‘deal’- because the Corker law notification requirements were not met- parts of the ‘deal’ will be legally challengeable.
The big donors who look to make a killing from the lifting of sanctions don’t want a legally suspect ‘deal’.
The Iran Deal is a TROJAN HORSE. MUSLIM JARRETT AND MUSLIM OBAMA SIDE WITH IRAN AND SEEK TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THEM AGAINST AN ISRAELI ATTACK.
OBAMA, KERRY, JARRETT AND OTHERS MUST BE ARRESTED AND JAILED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The survival of America & Israel is at stake here, folks!
