A man in Ohio has been arrested for what they are calling a ‘hate crime’ for burning a flag.
It wasn't a U.S. flag!
It was a GAY PRIDE FLAG!
We have Blacks, Mexicans, Muslims and liberal Whites burning and stomping on our country’s flag and it’s not a problem.
But if you burn a gay pride flag it’s a hate crime?
What about the hate crimes committed against Whites in the so called ‘knock-out game’ where Blacks target Whites and savagely assault and beat the hell out of them? Those aren’t labeled hate crimes because it would be racist.
The man’s name is Cameron Mayfield, 23, and he has been charged with third-degree arson after police arrested him for burning a gay pride flag.

The charge carries a maximum of five years in prison.
Mayfield’s defense attorney James Martin Davis said in court the charge “trivializes what true hate crimes are.”
Davis admits his client was drinking since 1:30 a.m. before the incident.
Davis said, “He’s just some kid that got drunk and it was a prank."
Davis said, “There’s a political wind that’s blowing pretty hard these days in Omaha and in America and I want to make sure that wind doesn’t blow my clients over.”
Unless something is being left out if I was this man I am expecting a nice check for false arrest.
Oh…so burning the official flag of the US is excused as freedom of expression, but burning the fag flag is a sin for which the government shall punish you. Show us the law on that one, please.

There has to be a hell of a lot more to it than this.
But, that said, this charge is ridiculous.
The laws are now “whatever”.
“I like you. The law says I can write you a fat check.”
“I don’t like you. The law says I can put you in prison for 5 years.”
Haven’t courts called the burning of the American flag a free speech issue?

There almost certainly is. My bet is that he burned the flag in the front yard of some gay guy. Like the Klan burning a cross on a black person's yard.
So burning the Confederate Flag is a hate crime, too? </sarc>
Well, I can ASSUME (make ass of you and me!) it wasn’t his flag.
So, anti-Americans can burn a US flag if it is theirs, but if they take your flag off your flag pole and burn it, I hope they’d be at least charged with illegally destroying your property.
I’ll bet the young drunk burned someone else’s Gay flag. He doesn’t seem the type to have one of his own.
Note that I encourage everyone to buy or make a gay flag and burn it, as I’m not against the idea, and that would be protected political speech. Just to let the cops know they can’t go there.

This story is from March. He was drunk, he apparently stole a lesbian couple’s flag and ran down the street and waived the burning flag at the couple who felt intimidated by it.
It couldn’t have been his own queer flag that he torched. And since the owner of the flag is a Protected Species the flag arsonist is up for added hate crime charges.
If he had stuck to burning a stolen Confederate Battle Flag he would be hailed as hero, invited to meet Barky at the White House, and the owner of the Confederate flag would be charged with a hate crime for displaying it.

True. I found out more of the story after doing some research.
Maybe he was stuffing it up a fags a$$ as it was on fire. It could happen!
