I like Walker the governor more than I like Walker the candidate.

I’m glad we have solid people like Dr. Sowell and Dr. Williams on our side espousing good, solid conservative economic views. Who does the left have? Paul Krugman. Please.

Also the Fox moderators didn’t direct any questions at him, and those that they did were highly personal such as his view on the Bible, etc. I thought it was fixed.

Walker, being raised a polite, Midwest minister’s son and Eagle Scout, did not jump in, or interrupt.

ah well, i guess the over-the-top bit of humor i was going for didn’t quite make it into the plain text. humor is clearly not my strong suit. still...no harm done.

as for trump, you’re right of course. i didn’t really expect trump to quit while he’s lapping the field. to quote an old song, wouldn’t it be nice? i mean haven’t stranger things have already happened here. who would have predicted year ago that two johnny come gop lately, long time leftist democrats would be running 1 and 2, according to some polls, in the gop presidential primary.

as for hope and change, as a Christian i believe deeply in both, when the hope and change spoken of actually leads to spiritual growth and the renewing of one’s mind in Christ.

well, i agree that the obama trade and iran stuff was wrong. i have no idea why he supported them. but no candidate is perfect, because no human being is perfect. those weren’t deal breakers for me.

i like ted less for what he’s accomplished in the senate then what he’s done outside of it.

one tremendous asset for him is that he is apparently an experienced pastor. if you’ve spent anytime around great pastors, true men of God, you’ll know what i mean.

basically it makes him mega-gifted with people, knowing them in the spirit, and then being able to translate that knowledge into personalized, articulate teaching and real help—far better than any secular psychology based professional could ever do. after all God is the Great Physician. the pastor is convincing people to let God in to do all the work. and God fearing pastors, the real deal, can’t help being true conservatives. conservatism derives from the true Faith, the living God.

the other thing about the ted cruzes, dave brats, and the like is that the uniparty hates and fears them with a passion, because they beat them on their own turf against a heavily stacked deck. there’s truth in the old “enemy of my enemy” saying. gope fear and hate can also be used to good advantage by a smart campaigner, and i’d be willing to bet cruz is a very good campaigner based on what he’s accomplished against the gope.

That line of attack has become tiresome. If you want to have an honest discussion, check out the high points from Trump's 2011 book, "Time To Get Tough", then argue against his actual positions.

no thanks to the book. i don’t fancy giving money to trump that way. i’ve actually contributed to his campaign for other reasons.

but, you’re welcome to synopsize his top three, best shot “positions” for all of us, excluding his position on illegal immigation.

i’ve done my own research on that, which is largely taken from a good conservative man, Jeff Sessions. as such i have no problem with that, jeff sessions has been on my short list for president for many years now.

my current best judgement on trump is predicated on unsavory personal experience, the immorality of promoting gambling, his trump university. i’ve also, way back in the day, watched his apprentice tv show, which while entertaining in itself, painted a very good picture of trump for me from his own mouth and actions.

Not my job, homie. It's your job to honestly inform yourself of the candidates' positions. Speaking of which, I can scarcely believe that any Freeper is still in the dark on Trump's position on illegal immigration. It just happens to be the issue that shot him to the top of the polls.

Now, seeing as how you're determined to judge the candidates on preconceived notions and fragments of anecdotal evidence, from this point forward, I'll simply assume that all your comments are based in willful ignorance.

Strike the part in my previous response about Trump’s position on illegal immigration. I read your post as “including”, not “excluding”. I’m in the middle of my work day and got distracted.

Surely you’ve heard about Trump’s tax plan. Dozens of threads have been posted here about it. It’s been discussed in detail on FR.

As to the rest of his positions on the issues, he’s spoken on nearly every hot topic of the day, and all of those comments have been dissected here. No, he hasn’t released policy papers on those issues, but neither have any of the other candidates.

If you intend the judge the man by his positions, then do the honest thing and look them up. They’re in his 2011 book.
