Two top Senate investigators offered potential immunity Tuesday to Bryan Pagliano, the staffer who set up the email server in former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clintons home, in exchange for testimony about her activities.
Mr. Pagliano last week said he would assert his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in refusing to answer questions about the matter, but Sens. Charles E. Grassley and Ron Johnson, the chairmen of two key committees investigating the situation, said they have authority to extend immunity if Mr. Pagliano is willing to talk.
They proposed a proffer session, where Mr. Pagliano would let them know what he knows in an off-the-record setting, and all sides could then decide what steps to take. The Committees have the authority to obtain an immunity order, to acquire the information they need, while also protecting your right against self-incrimination, the two senators wrote in a letter to Mr. Paglianos lawyer.
Their offer raises the stakes for Mr. Pagliano and could create more peril for Mrs. Clinton, who has insisted she complied with all laws when operating the server.
But after days of refusing to apologize for setting up her own server, Mrs. Clinton finally reversed course Tuesday, in an interview with ABC News.

I got caught. I’m sorry.
He’s probably a hardcore Hillararian who would much rather fall on his sword than snitch on his queen.
Pleading the Fifth is explained quite simply, and immunity would/could lead to the facts. He was/is a government employee. He was coerced by another government worker (Hillary) to blatantly and knowingly violate the Federal Records Act of 1950. Forget about Top Secret, Secret, Classified, Foreign Sourced, etc. They were stealing government-related work documents while in the course of government work and storing it improperly in an attempt to avoid FOIA disclosures. Ignorance of the law, even after admitting she wasnt thinking, is no excuse.....except in the Just Us Department who will go out of their way to cover for Hillary the Forgetful.
If he gets immunity to spill the goods on Hillary they might just as well shoot him now before she has him Fostrized.
Put him in jail. Give him and her orange pantsuits (maybe his boss has an extra one) and an industrial sized barrel of Vaseline and put his sorry ass in a real prison.
They jeopardized America.
I thought that immunity was used to compel testimony? Or is it a choice?
“I never know no Godfather, I’ve got my own family, Senator.”
I hope he has good security.
He will probably be so distraught that he feels compelled to commit suicide in Marcy Park.
No joke
How about arrest for Contempt of Congress?
He doesn’t need immunity, he needs the witness protection program.
Here’s how it will go:
“Ok we’ll give you immunity”
“Oh, well in that case I did it all, HilLIARy is innocent”
That’s how ya do it. Got a good number of convictions with an immunity grant. Doesn’t happen often, but can be quite a valuable tool.
The request for immunity should come from our intelligence agencies,
not Senators.
Bryan needs to realize that this is starting to look like espionage and treason.
Treason gets people hung.
Throw in the witness protection plan and he might consider.
That is an ideal fool’s setup. The person with immunity takes all the blame. A smarter tactic is to pit them against each other so that each is motivated to blab about the other. NEVER give away immunity too early when the loyalty between them is strong. That might work with the mafia, but this is different than that. With the mafia the assumption already is that everyone is corrupt. While that may be a fair assumption in this case, the truth is it is NOT the assumption. Hillary is running for President on the party ticket of the current President. No way is it smart to sell out immunity right now this early. That would be immensely foolish.
