Hugh Hewitt, the moderator picked by GOP leaders for the upcoming candidates debate, is firmly on the establishments side in its struggle against outsider Donald Trump.
Hewitt is going to be asking the questions in the Sept. 16 debate, and hes already made clear he doesnt like Trumphe doesnt like his populist priorities, and he prefers establishment candidates, such as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% , who has tried since 2012 to boost the migration of lower-wage, profit-boosting foreign workers into the United States.
No. no, he doesnt have the temperament to be president, Hewitt said about Trump, to NBC host Chuck Todd Aug. 9.
The next debate takes place Sept. 16 at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, but Hewitt is already doing his best to rough-up Trump.
Trump sat for a Sept. 3 interview on Hewitts radio show. While the title of the audio file posted on Hewitts website suggests that the interview was presented to Trump as an opportunity to answer why he took the [GOP] pledge, yet Hewitts first mention of Trumps GOP pledge did not come until 20 minutes and 32 seconds into the interviewan interview which was a grand total of 20 minutes at 47 seconds long.

The Uniparty knows best. You are only allowed to pick which Uniparty candidate will implement the Uniparty’s policies.
Bought and paid?
The best thing that could happen to Trump. His campaign feeds on the unfairness and hypocrisy of the media.
All you have to do is listen to his show for a few minutes.
Hewett is all RINO GOPE. He’s on the same team as Lindsey Graham and his pal Rick Wilson and lefty WaPo scribblers.
The dude is cooking up ‘gotcha’ debate questions as we speak for Trump.
So agree with you!!!
Way to go Trump 2016!!! All the way to the White House!!!
You know, we all griped for years about the party allowing just left wing outlets to run the debates. Now supposedly right media types are doing the same crap. Can we PLEASE just have someone ask fair questions straight up, without the agendas? Honestly. Is that really so much to ask? It reminds me of when the Republicans took over Congress after so long. Too much, they end up just aping the conduct from whom they took over.
I am so tired of these fake moderators.
I heard the interview live and it did come across as gotcha questions. Hewitt is talented and smart but this time he was just too smart. If Hewitt oversteps during the debate I believe that Trump will get the better of it and Hewitt will be sorry he ever went down that road.
That whole thing on Hewitt’s show last Thursday was Hugh putting on a show. Set up Trump, and use Carly Fiorina in a way that was too pat.
I ALWAYS had a creepy feeling about Hugh Hewitt and that icky and unappealing thing he calls a smile. He is the classic snake-in-the-grass. He joins the nearly-as-creepy Erik Erickson as a scared GOP=e mouthpiece, whose biggest job now is to discredit Trump AND his growing band of followers.
Deal master Trump should make some demands of CNN.
Either he gets a show up fee or HH head on a pike.
Candy Crowley
Eric Erickson
Hugh Hewitt
WTF....?????
LOL Trump is Presbyterian not Moslem, so it would probably be a fee...
Whether it's Hewitt, Kelly, Crowley or Stephanopolous the result is the same. It's shoddy political showmanship.
No Trump no ratings, he should demand HH head on a pike,
or like on his popular show where the celebrity apprentices played for charities getting the winnings , Trump should ask for a million just to show up and give it to the Vets.
After the continued screw ups in 2012 by allowing flaming out of the closet communists moderate GOP debates they decided to bring in flaming leftist with that all important (R) approved label. They are still liberals, but they are Republican liberals so all is well...
Over/under on how many times Hugh cites Mitt Romney in his debate questions?
Ping.
