It is unclear how the shark beached itself.
Ah, it used the stairs? Duh.

I think a great white shark dying on the beach is a good thing. What is wrong with me? Heartless?

Maybe they can project a image of it on the empire state building.

A few summers ago, I was walking along Hampton Beach in NH and one of these sharks had washed up on the beach.
It was the same scene as depicted in this article. A bunch of concerned people were kneeling around it, dousing it with seawater collected in sand pails. The shark was obviously dead and about 15 feet from the water line. But those people were determined to get it back in the water where I guess they expected the grateful shark to flip its tail and pine for those fjords.

Have you ever heard of a Great White Shark rescuing somebody who is drowning?

Chatham and invirons have tons of gray seals that have colonized there. A few weeks ago a shark got a seal....and puked it up on a sand bar.
It was quite the tourist attraction for a few days.
Thank you Walt Disney.

IIRC, great whites must stay in constant motion in order to strain oxygen from the water.
The shark was doomed as soon as it hit the beach. The humane thing to do would have been to put a bullet in its brain.

The tall dune in the background of one the photos brings back great memories of sliding down those in nearby Truro as a kid back in the 60’s and 70’s.

Wellfleet is a wonderful town on the Outer Cape; they harvest their world-renowned oysters of the same name (even slurped a few in Indiana of all places); don’t miss the Cape Cod National Seashore; a really fun restaurant/bar is the Beachcomber, overlooks the Atlantic; a great restaurant not to miss is Finely JPs right on US-6, the main drag through the Cape. It’s a short shot up to P-Town (Moonbat central on the Cape) for those so-inclined, or for simply the entertainment factor (not for kids!).

“So, Bob.....what did you do over the Labor Day weekend?”
“I tried to save a dead shark.”
“I see. Anything else?”
“I went to a Hillary rally.”
“Isn’t that the same thing?”
