Exactly. Not a shock at all.
Add to that the reasonable expectation that Trump has no interest in shrinking the size of government — and it is definitely not a shock.
Exactly.
They see Trump as just as liberal as Hillary Clinton who will keep the goodies and entitlements flowing.
And this is different from the GOPe telling the base they have to “moderate” to bring in the liberal minorities and independents how?
Not even Reagan shrunk the size of government. Is he a liberal too?
Trump wants to cut taxes. Enough said.
“Add to that the reasonable expectation that Trump has no interest in shrinking the size of government and it is definitely not a shock.”
And just where did you get that mistaken idea?
Neither does the GOP. Never did. They’ve lied the entire time.
My relatives, who have not voted republican in 30 years, will vote for Trump!
You are pointing out the double edge sword we do not talk about much.
I truly believe that if Trump makes it to the general election he will garner support from certain voters across the spectrum who would never have voted for Mitt, McCain or Cruz for that matter.
These will be democrats of varying stripes who view Trump to be socially liberal and not someone who will take down to size of government.
Sure, Trump will do some rallies with Pat Robertson and all that, but these Dems will know he’s not serious. Same for social programs.
But I don’t really care as long as he builds the wall and nominates Alito type supreme court justices. I’m not sure he will do either but am willing to take a chance here.
What part is he expanding? IRS? maybe? i don’t know. Killing obamacare kills alot in IRS.
"Exactly. Not a shock at all.Add to that the reasonable expectation that Trump has no interest in shrinking the size of government and it is definitely not a shock."
Is that a fair slam at him? You know full well the only easy to slim the government is to cut the Military? Do we want that?
You also know that the last time the budget was cut and balanced was solely due to the Congress. Gingrich and company. It had nothing to do with Clinton, right? Therefore whether he is interested in cutting or not it really won't be his job. It would be nice if he wanted to but pretty much irrelevant.
The bulk of the black ink budget and red ink borrowing is completely on autopilot. so what do you propose that *he* propose to cut? I say let's try to fix the damn amnesty if at all possible before piling on anything else, because if it can't be stopped, it won't matter. Whatever gets cut now will be back x10 later when they have a bulletproof voting electorate. Jeez.
