There’s a difference between regulate and control.
Government can be useful in curbing excesses and predatory behavior, and then should leave things otherwise alone.
“Control” implies a lot more involvement than that. Who sets the goals? Haven’t we seen in the USSR and Maoist China how top-down central planning misallocates resources to the detriment of the general welfare?
Letting gov’t define “excesses and predatory behavior” is not a good idea.
What has happened to the Catholic Church?
Is this what our Lord had in mind in Matthew 16:18, Sister? I think not.
