Montgomery County schools see more than 1,100 international enrollments [illegal aliens]

Maryland’s largest and fastest-growing school system has registered more than 1,100 international students in recent weeks, according to newly released data that shows a drop in such enrollments compared with a year ago.

Last year’s spike in Montgomery County was at least partly driven by an influx of unaccompanied minors from Central America, district officials say. The number of students from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras more than doubled compared with peak enrollment periods a year earlier, according to district figures.

Montgomery’s new figures, for July 1 to Aug. 22, show that about 160 of the 1,110 international students recently registered are from those three countries; about 380 of the nearly 1,300 who enrolled during the same period last year were from that region.

School system officials do not ask about immigration status when children enroll, but some unaccompanied minors are identified by the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement.

Peak international enrollment in Montgomery extends into September. Classes started this week in the district, which projects a total enrollment this year of more than 156,000 students across its 202 schools.

Let me just say, the melonomically challenged are now a minority in that county.

The libs there will be surprised at how quickly their once top-ranked school district will slide into gangland holding pens.

Too bad.

“Montgomery County schools see more than 1,100 international enrollments”

That sounds so worldly, so accepting, so...Rive Gauche...

According to the US Census Bureau you're wrong. In fact Montgomery County is whiter than the state as a whole.

Must be an old census - it was all over the news a few months ago that whites are now a minority there - that’s how fast things are changing there.

They are a plurality, but no longer a majority

That will just indicate the need to spend more money.

I preached to democrats in Tennessee when Clinton/Gore were running for pres/vp and they ignored the facts. Now those same people are bemoaning the invasion by wetbacks and otherwise unwanted savages from third worlds.

These liberals are stupid. They just don't get it.

lifelong mo co resident here.

truly a sad situation.

ive already spent a fortune and continue spending to enable my children to avoid mo co public school system.

a case of tb sprung up last spring in one mo co public school.

speed cameras everywhere, nickel a bag tax on carryout bags, county owned and run beer and liquor.

I will be relocating as soon as family situation allows.

I grew up in Montgomery County. I hear you. It always saddens me to come back and visit, and see how many formerly nice middle class areas have gone downhill.

I’m sure their parents are paying taxes that help support the school...

Good. May the "sanctuary" county drown in the flood. As always, maryland is THE Freak state. Escape while you can. It is hopeless there.

I just looked it up on US Census Quick Facts.

Montgomery county is 47% white. Contrast to Frederick county which is 76% white. I believe the state as a whole was 53% white.

This is for Whites of Non-Hispanic descent.

Me too. The border with College Park/Silver Spring area around University Blvd resembles a Central American inner city.
