If he went ahead and used the word ought or should to describe what she is being pressured to do, this is tone deaf at the least when he needs to be singing on key.

This doesn’t look like a “let’s see what develops and then I’ll comment” attitude to me.

I support Kim’s right to refuse. She should step aside.

Just remember one thing: When concealed carry laws are passed in states and local sheriffs or police departments refuse to comply....how do we feel?

Government should be removed from marriage completely. Instead, government can issue a short-form contract that bestows legal status to another person (or persons) for the purpose of the law. A meaningless piece of paper.

Let marriage be a religious ceremony only carried out in private.

That is the answer.

She was elected, not hired. Her case is not weak.

You don't fire elected officials elected, in part, for her religious beliefs.

Some think that the Kim Davis battle is the wrong hill to die on because they themselves either don’t agree with her or will never have the courage of their convictions to provide enough evidence to be put in jail. For others of us, this is a paramount issue—primarily because it is the tip of the spear in this generation’s war against God, but also because we anticipate that we will likely one day end up in jail because of our beliefs. Those who don’t have those beliefs worry more about marginal tax rates and such like. Sheep and goats. Wide road and narrow road.

Nobody, Christians, conservatives or people on the right have been in the streets for anything horrible foisted on us. Why would they start now?

One would think that all the things Obama has done would have gotten an “in the streets” response.

What you have essentially just said is that Christians are now ineligible to hold certain public offices.

Why not use both the 1st and 10th amendments in her defense.

nope. i’m afraid you’re going to find out, along with all trump appologists, that ultimately no one who mocks God, accomplishes anything of real value in this world.

Our enemies are the progressives here. If they can put Christians in jail for being Christians, trying to stop the invasion is futile.

At this point, asking government to regulate marriage is a farce. And yet some will want it to keep on lest things deteriorate to underage relationships, incest, and the like.

The devil threw a stinkbomb in the middle of the land and now its smell is all over.

People are going to learn the hard way what the reason was for the “old idea” of marriage.

Those same people, if they think about it are asking him to commit political suicide.

One of the selling points for Trump is that things that are political suicide for regular candidates only make him stronger.

So, we elect a man who can talk about blood coming out of Megyn Kelly's whereever with no political fallout, but is unable to articulate the same position as Cruz, Jindal or even Walker on something that really matters?

This is VERY important. It is the end of federalism is federal courts can demand specific performance from state officials when there are no such proscriptions on the books. If it would be political suicide to say "The court is wrong", this country's suicide has alerady occurred, and we are only waiting for rigor mortis to set in.

You speak the plain truth. Getting involved would hurt Trump among people who would otherwise support him.

He is taking the safe course of action.

I think we will all take the safe course of action until we have no possible alternative, and then we won't be safe no matter what we do.

"That attitude didn’t work out too well for the first Catherine of Aragon either did it?"

Interesting response, that.

I would say that it worked out pretty well for her in the end. Catherine kept every bit of her dignity and was true to her God in the midst of much adversity. Kind of like Kim Davis.

You might want to go the craven coward's route and dismiss our Constitutional freedoms so you can continue to worship at the altar of a Manhattanite shyster.

I'll have none of it, though.

Just curious, would you stand against the religious establishment that forced speaking in tongues and the other gifts of the Spirit out of the Church in the first century in order to keep authority and power in the hands of ‘those who know better’?

You’re right. Cruz is not what he appears to be. Ultimately, he’s a Bushie. And his wife is CFR. But he knows how to throw red meat to the Christian right, and keep them salivating.

Sorry about the formatting, no paragraphs. First ‘vanity’ post. Someone will probably say it should be my last. Beat you to it..

What is it you mean by "vanity" post? I am unfamiliar with this usage of the word in this context. Please enlighten me.

Of course I have considered the other point of view. It is to obey your masters. I don’t think so.
