Trump has been importuned repeatedly to “pledge allegiance” to the Republican Party. So, naturally, he used that phrase. It was entirely natural for him to add “and to the principles for which it stands.” I think it’s preposterous to imagine that he was “mocking” the actual Pledge.

BTW: No American should recite the Pledge. It denies the natural right of secession, which is upheld in the Declaration of Independence.

Good Lord - you missed my point. I said he was mocking the RNC pledge - NOT the pledge of Allegiance. Brush up on your reading comprehension skills.
