The reason Trump is popular here is because he’s saying the same things all of us are thinking, and have been saying for years. If he strays off topic, he’ll suffer the consequences, and knows it.

Trump agreed to it because he’s pretty sure he has the support needed to win the nomination. He was always weakest with conservatives based on his past positions. He has won them over. The more liberal independents and RINOs will have no trouble voting for him in the primaries.
Can we get McConnell and Boehner to sign a pledge that they will begin keeping their campaign promises?
I'd say Trump made the best of a bad situation where the RNC thought they had him backed against the wall. Instead, Trump came across as very Presidential.

Some people can’t be pleased no matter what. When Trump didn’t sign the pledge he was bad, and when he does sign the pledge he is bad.

He will honor it cause he will win the nomination easily. People are ready for a real change. Not words, not “introducing legislation,” not nibbling-around-the-edge state programs, REAL significant change.
What about it?
The real Donald Trump comes out and says "I'm Donald Trump" and Carson comes out and says, "I'm a nicer, non-confrontational Donald Trump."
I think---could be wrong---that by the next cycle of polling Trump is still way up and Carson is back down at the 10% level.

Wolf is a traitor, a progressive agent, posing as a conservative, as is Jennifer Rubin, the WaPo’s fake conservative. Frankly Redstate should probably be banned from FR. I think we account for 30% of their traffic, which is already less than 25% of FRs total.
As for Trump's character and the twists and turns and lack of GOP orthodoxy of Trump's views in the past, whatever happened to the "Big Tent" theory of party building touted by the GOP establishment and the Bushites? Remarkably, conservatives who now embrace Trump as a convert are displaying more of that "Big Tent" spirit than Jeb and his allies.
And, by the way, with Jeb now calling himself a flat out conservative, he is contradicting his own dismissal of conservatives as annoying "chirpers" for opposing amnesty. What Jeb openly and honestly called amnesty then he now even claims is not really amnesty -- which he says he opposes!
In sum, while Trump shows what seems to be genuine growth toward and sincere advocacy of conservative principles and measures, with Jeb we are getting the same old amnesty policy that conservatives oppose deceptively called not amnesty -- and with Jeb now claiming to be a true conservative! Is it any wonder that Jeb has sunk in the polls and is meeting donor resistance?
Just suppose the GOPee simply came to their senses, realized that Jeb’s a yawner and admitted to themselves that it looks like Trump very well might run the table.
So they cooked up the “pledge” ruse to sucker the other 16 into signing a non-agression pact with Trump, and then the GOPee ride his coattails right into the Casa Blanca? Whattayathink?

Rand was once a viable candidate but he had one big problem .... he kept opening his mouth. I liked him at first but then he proved to be way out there.

I didn't agree with this article either. But are you saying RedState should be banned from FR because you agree with them only 80% of the time?
