The judge is U.S. federal judge David L. Bunning (born 1966).
Born in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Bunning received a B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 1988 and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1991. He was a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Kentucky in 1991, and was an assistant U.S. Attorney in that office from 1991 to 2002.
On September 4, 2001, Bunning was nominated by President George W. Bush to a seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky vacated by William O. Bertelsman. Bunning was confirmed by the United States Senate on February 14, 2002, and received his commission on February 19, 2002.
Bunning is the son of former Senator Jim Bunning, a Hall of Fame baseball pitcher who represented Kentucky in the United States Senate from 1999 to 2011.—Wikipedia
