"Gov. Scott Walker is linking a recent string of police killings to President Barack Obama, calling him a "divider-in-chief."
........Walker accused Obama, who is the nation's first African-American president,of dividing the country, and said he,if elected, would bring unity as president.
"After years of division under President Obama,America needs a leader who will seek to unite all Americans. Instead of focusing on what divides us,we need to concentrate on what brings us together,"...."No law enforcement officer should fear to do their job the way he or she was trained to do it,and no law-abiding citizen should fear for their safety from those sworn to protect us."
Walker also called for a change in tone"from chants and rallies that fixate on racial division,"and said America should follow the example of the families of the victims targeted in a racially-motivated shooting this summer at a historic African-American church in Charleston, South Carolina.
[Walker's actual words:We need to change the tone in America from chants and rallies that fixate on racial division and instead follow the example of the families of the victims of the Charleston shooting, who showed us the best path forward is through unity. As president, thats what Im going to do to make us a united America once again."]
Obama traveled to Charleston in the wake of the June shootings to eulogize one of the victims,Rev. Clementa Pinckney,in a widely-heralded speech.
The president also announced a plan last year to strengthen relationships between communities and law enforcement in the wake of the deaths of unarmed black men in Ferguson,Missouri, and elsewhere around the country. Many have spurred protests, some of them violent, and have helped launch the Black Lives Matter movement.
When asked during a campaign stop in New Hampshire last month whether he would meet with representatives of the Black Lives Matter movement,Walker dismissed the question as "ridiculous."
"I meet with voters.................."

What Walker actually wrote [Hannity interview is linked at FR thread: Hot Air: Scott Walker speaks out on cop murders and American leadership we have their back
Gov. Scott Walker: "Over the last week, weve seen a disturbing trend of police officers being murdered on the job. Texas Sheriffs Deputy Darren Goforth was killed Friday, gunned down while pumping gas for no apparent reason other than the uniform on his back. And just yesterday, in my neighboring state of Illinois, police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz was assassinated by three men, who are still on the run.
This isnt the America I grew up in or that I want my children to grow up in. When the very people responsible for keeping us safe are targeted because they are law enforcement officials, we have a serious problem.
In the last six years under President Obama, weve seen a rise in anti-police rhetoric. Instead of hope and change, weve seen racial tensions worsen and a tendency to use law enforcement as a scapegoat. This kind of attitude has created a culture in which we all too often see demonstrations and chants where people describe police as pigs and call for them to be fried like bacon. This inflammatory and disgusting rhetoric has real consequences for the safety of officers who put their lives on the line for us and hampers their ability to serve the communities that need their help.
In Wisconsin we acted to protect both police officers and citizens through a first-in-the-nation law that requires an independent investigation when a suspect dies in police custody.
And I will continue to support efforts to ensure officers receive proper training at the local level to help make sure force is only used in appropriate circumstances.
But we must do more to protect those who protect us. Police officers across this country need to know that we have their back. As Ive done throughout my career, I will continue to have the backs of police officers, sheriffs deputies, and state troopers and treat them with the respect they deserve.
After years of division under President Obama, America needs a leader who will seek to unite all Americans. Instead of focusing on what divides us, we need to concentrate on what brings us together. No law enforcement officer should fear to do their job the way he or she was trained to do it, and no law-abiding citizen should fear for their safety from those sworn to protect us.
We need to change the tone in America from chants and rallies that fixate on racial division and instead follow the example of the families of the victims of the Charleston shooting, who showed us the best path forward is through unity. As president, thats what Im going to do to make us a united America once again."
Walker "Me Too" moment.
...Obama traveled to Charleston in the wake of the June shootings to eulogize one of the victims...
Maybe he could interrupt doing nothing to eulogize an assassinated cop.
The far left Milwalukee Journal Sentinal continues to twist Walker’s words, to Walker’s detriment. This time on support for the police.
FRee Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Gov. Scott Walker and Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. (an ally of the governor) have been dealing with this for many, many years. But if Sen. Ted Cruz wants to help out, he’s more than welcome.
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT point.
You need to look in the mirror and see the “I’m clueless” sign on your forehead.
Since before taking office as governor in Jan of 2011, and each day thereafter, Gov. Walker’s been battling the Left (AND WINNING) — pushing through one conservative victory after another, after another.
But now Jeb's in trouble, and the very fact that the RNC and some of the money people don't want to go to some of these survivors who already announced, they want to go back to Mitt, what does it tell you? Well, it tells you a lot. But, I mean, this is pathetic. The last best hope is 2012's loser? As opposed to one or two of the others who have announced who have been campaigning, who have been on the stump, who have been raising money, who've been out making speeches, who've been out making their case. Now if Jeb doesn't make it, if the money leaves and we gotta get somebody in there to replace Jeb that's gonna hold on to the money and that's gonna be Romney?"
Lightweight regional candidate. Wisconsin can keep him.
Personal attacks are not necessary.
That’s rich. That’s about all I get.
“Partly”? I give him full credit. This is his “fundamentally transformed” Amerika. We’re all Chicago gangstahs now!
The only place I see the word “partly” is in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s headline.
