Individually, they have each exonerated her in their own heart. But, Progs are herd animals. They need to see the herd move in one direction towards one, well-defined excuse. They need to hear it on TV so they can point to is as the “truth that has been eluding them” so that they can proclaim that the matter is settled and further examination is just “a distraction”.
