Yup.

Father Doyle was and is a good man. He was punished severely for speaking out against Roman church sex abuse. He first blew the whistle back in the 80s. He was forced out of the Vatican as a cannon lawyer and became a military chaplain instead.

Then, in the early 2000s, he started speaking out again as the sex abuse became headlines. He went on Meet the Press and did interviews with dozens of media, because he was the first one to speak out officially.

Doyle spent years helping sex abuse victims and those with substance abuse. He was selfless and dogged.

The Roman church went after him once again, and got him fired as a chaplain.

Catholics actually think that he is HOLY. That he is in direct contact with God and is special beyond measure.

He’s no more HOLY than the Baptist preacher in the smallest town in America.

Believe in God...not a figurehead designed to fool you.

Now, he will speak in America to Mexicans in Spanish! Will he speak in English after that so we will know what he said? HELL NO!

We have the POS in the whitehouse and the Catholics have him in the Vatican.

There’s a lesson here.

When a nation aborts 60,000,000 of its young, that national disappears.

“I am continually offended when I see a crucifix with Christ depicted still hanging on the cross.”

I’m not. That was the greatest act of love (to coin a phrase) in history.

I find your story to be rather sad.

It would have been a sad story, but for Him. Now I have hope and joy.

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I am glad neither I, as a Catholic nor any of my Catholic family or friends think the Pope is considered naturally holy. He is, after all, just a man. We have been very fortunate to have had Popes who were good to great in the last several decades. That has not always been the case.

Amen! Your life story matches my own and countless others here on FR! I am so thankful Almighty God, in His mercy saved me simply by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, totally apart from works; and delivered me from "dead religion" (the "Roman Catholic church") to serve the living God.

The present "pope" demonstrates the utter spiritual bankruptcy of Roman Catholicism and its false doctrine of "apostolic succession" through his ongoing statements and actions on a continual basis.

From a spiritual, doctrinal and biblical standpoint "pope" Francis is a DISGRACE. That said, sadly I have no doubt the regular, spiritually blind and deceived RC defenders here on FR will once again come to his defense by making never-ending excuses for his absurd words and actions; "his words are taken out of context"; "he didn't mean what he said"; "you are just 'bashing' RC"; ...Their list of excuses for this so-called "pope" grows longer by the hour. However, not withstanding their arguments, the guy in charge of the RCC is a proven Marxist, socialist, heretic proclaiming a false, man made "social, environmental 'gospel'" which will lead his followers straight to hell. He certainly isn't proclaiming the Lord Jesus Christ or the Gospel of Christ.

A Time of Great Deception By Alice Johnson Childs

Globalism and ecumenism are the goals of this pope, and Communism/Marxism is the vehicle that is being used to bring both pillars, religious and political, of this New World Order into existence.Communism/Marxism/Fascism will be the framework, or infrastructure if you will, that will form the basis for the coming global government as well.

If you wish to know what is in store in the near future, you need look no further than the Pope’s upcoming address to the United Nations slated for next month in the United States regarding their new push of the incredibly evil Agenda 2030, which replaces the old, really bad Agenda 21. It is totalitarianism on steroids.

“I’m still Catholic but go to the Lutheran church with my wife. Haven’t been to a Catholic church in years and years.”

What about the Holy Eucharist? Do the Lutherans believe in the Real Presence?

Not looking for an argument but I was wondering what, if anything, you do about that.

They do have the Eucharist, but I don't partake. The last time I went to Catholic Mass, in 2007, I did take communion.

One more of the many reasons why this Catholic thinks this Pope is a disaster for both Catholics and non-Catholics. He has turned out to be the Obama of the Catholic Church.

AMEN!!

When I was young the Jesuits had the reputation of being the most conservative and the strictest. There were many Jesuit run schools where this was instilled. Still are but in a diluted more liberal way I suppose

” hen I was young the Jesuits had the reputation of being the most conservative and the strictest. “

Here is the problem

They live a spartan life, and they are strict (mostly educators). If you add POLITICS into the mix, they are leftists.

They don’t believe in capitalism, period

They don’t even believe in private property

They are for global open borders

In the past 40 years, they have supported every Marxist dictator in the world.

Don’t know and don’t care. If the Pope does not speak English, he should celebrate Mass in Latin.

Also, his stated rationale is specious. I doubt seriously that he would celebrate Mass using English in a Spanish speaking country to recognize the local large English speaking population.

Americans should be outraged. American Catholics should be livid.
