Israeli ambassador: Iran deal still ‘a danger to the world’ (LISTEN)

It’s looking like a lock.

Wednesday, Democratic Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland announced she’d support the controversial nuclear deal between world powers and Iran — giving President Barack Obama’s administration enough votes to keep Congress from overriding it.

As Ron Dermer, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, spoke with Eric Scott of Townsquare Media’s New Jersey 101.5 Wednesday, he acknowledged that political reality — even if he didn’t much like it (listen to the full interview above).

The deal, Dermer told Scott, is “a danger to the region and a danger to the world. This decision today and this announcement doesn’t change that.”

Under the deal, Iran would be forced to limit its nuclear activity and be subject to international inspections meant to ensure compliance. In exchange, longstanding economic sanctions on Iran would be lifted.

Critics — including the Israeli government — say that legitimizes Iran’s nuclear activity, giving it funding needed to support aggression and giving it a path to building a nuclear bomb. Supporters say its the inspections regime that will prevent Iran from getting a bomb and note sanctions can snap back into place if it doesn’t comply.

Dermer told Scott Wednesday that while the deal may go through — Obama now has enough votes that if legislators shoot down the deal, he can veto their disapproval without being overridden — the majority of legislators are still opposed. And he said the “overwhelming majority of the American people seem to think this is a very bad deal.”

“They remember what Iran is. They haven’t forgotten that Iran has been at war with the United States for the last 36 years,” he said.

It’s if Dermer’s read on public sentiment is accurate — it seems to depend on who you ask. In a new survey from the University of Maryland, 55 percent of respondents said Congress should back the deal, though many had reservations. But University of Quinnipiac poll released just days ago showed Americans against the deal by rougly nearly 2-1 margin. Several surveys have shown a deep partisan divide.

“I hope as people look more and more into this deal and more and more information comes out about the problems associated with this deal, maybe some people will reconsider their votes,” Dermer said.

In any case, he said, if — and perhaps when — the deal goes through, the U.S.-Israeli relationship will remain strong. And he said that will be essential to facing serious challenges in the Middle East.

“Sometimes even the best of friends can disagree on the way to advance our security,” he said.

With the assistance of the Republicans Obama is giving aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States. He is enabling Iran’s acquisition of bomb which can obliterate an entire city. And this while Iranian leaders hold “Death to America” mass rallies.

BY the way the iyalolahs announced to the world they were working on LONG RANGE MISSLES- these missiles are NOT for Israel, they are for us- Iran doesn’t need long range missiles to attack Israel-

They are laughing their butts off over how ignorantly gullible our leaders are! They rightfully think It’s like taking candy from a baby dealing with our grossly naive ‘leadership’

Either our leadership is grossly naïve, OR, they are working in concert with Iran to further the caliphate and destroy this country- one has to really wonder at this point which it is- because our ‘leadership’ has been doing everything in their power to make us more and more vulnerable (giving Iran everything they want with NO restrictions, reducing our military at home and abroad, Forcing our military to ‘observe new rules of engagement’ which SEVERELY limit how effectively they can protect themselves IN WAR, etc etc etc) In the face of OBVIOUS increased threats from the muslim nations who have OPENLY stated over and over again their desire to destroy us-

One would think that with rising foreign threats against this country, our government would be INCREASING our defenses, but nope- we are doing the exact opposite- why is that? Why would our government do something so obviously idiotic, and put this country in grave danger like it has?

We have a US president that sold high power weapons to the Mexican Drug Cartel. Just to have an excuse for gun control. We have a US Secretary of State that sold secrets and made diplomacy for Foundation donors. We have the most corrupt government in our history. Bar none. Israel needs to break away and never look back.

America has been and is still being betrayed by the very people who are supposed to be defending her.

From failures of national security to facilitating the invasion of barbarians from all over the world — betrayal.

All 34 of the ignoramuses who voted IN FAVOR of this horror should be jailed for treason, after being beaten black, blue and senseless. I'm not even sure if this is legal, that this fatherless piece of filth put into office by libtards and by fraud can create an "agreement" for such major stuff instead of having to have a treaty ratified by Congress. Iran is no doubt already celebrating throughout their benighted land at the sheer stupidity of Odungo and Kerry, how they will be able to develop nuclear weapons UNCHECKED and get $150 billion dollars to spend on terrorism. It will be fitting to have Odungo, Kerry, and the 34 traitors set up as the first victims. And the world would be a far better place.
