BREAKING: State Department says 150 more Hillary Clinton emails have been 'upgraded' to classified status in the release scheduled for tonight

State will publish about 7,000 pages of emails at 9:00 p.m. from Hillary's private home-brew server after scouring them for classified material

Another 150 messages will be added to the 63 that were already classified retroactively

Clinton faces political pressure from both her right and left flanks as her email crisis deepens

Asked if he could state categorically that Clinton 'followed the rules and the law,' a State Department spokesman said: 'I'm just not going to answer that question'

The State Department said Monday afternoon that when it releases the latest tranche of Hillary Clinton's emails tonight, 'somewhere around 150' of them will have been 'upgraded to classified' status.

Agency spokesman Mark Toner briefed reporters in advance of the periodic release, which was rescheduled twice during the day and is now expected at 9:00 p.m. EDT.

Under intense questioning, Toner conceded that the review of about 7,000 pages of emails in the latest batch has uncovered the 150 communications 'that have been subsequently upgraded classified.'

He emphasized that 'the information we've upgraded was not marked classified at the time the emails were sent.' But Toner seemed to hedge his bets against future decision-making inside the U.S. Intelligence Community.

'That's our estimation right now,' said Toner.

Someone was definitely striping the classification markings and resending them to HRC. And I can’t believe that HRC did not know that was happening. I wonder if Huma will be the ‘fall girl’ but HRC is still accountable for knowingly receiving classified information and not notifying the security folks. Or is the “smartest woman in the world” actually incredibly dumb as well as stupid. Or perhaps she thinks she’s too smart to be caught.

BOVINE FECES! They were classified from the beginning!

No parsing. No obfuscation. The spokesman doesn't want to perjure himself.

They should release copies of the emails to the public. We would scrutinize them much more thoroughly than any State Department or Justice Department could ever do and we’d do it for free!

BREAKING: State Department says 150 more Hillary Clinton

As Sec of State, everything is sensitive and should be at least CONFIDENTIAL. If Madam Benghazi and her underlings were not smart enough to understand that Operational Security is critical in a position of that nature, she should've retired her Ol' Crusty pantsuit a long time ago.

this is a case of “technical upgrading” a document that has classified information in it that was not properly marked as classified. It is not a case of “well we now think it should be classified.”

Doesn’t matter.

She’s the officer in charge of maintaining classification.

She set up an unsecure sever.

Intent is not a necessary element in order to have committed a crime here.

But I also believe that she had intent, and that she was engaged in espionage for her own personal enrichment.

No parsing. No obfuscation. The spokesman doesn't want to perjure himself.

More likely he doesn't want to "Vince Foster" himself.

This is all distraction.

The REAL, absolutely horrific story here is that there is a population, represented by a major political party, which will STILL overwhelmingly vote for her.

I’m surprised they didn’t release them at 9:00 PM Friday, before Labor Day. That’s the way government usually dumps evidence.

nothing is classified “retroactively”

its classified when created or its not.

Once it is released it’s too late- the information is out there. You can’t get everyone to un-learn it and marke it classified

that is what I was saying. She was responsible and any defense of “just now regrading to classified” is NOT a defense. It was born classified and remains so until officially declassified. Merely removing classification markings or retyping it with out classification markings does not “declassify” a classified document.

I spend most of my military career working with classified matters and I am NOT going to cut HRC any slack on this.
