CHATHAM, N.J. (WABC) -- Pro Bowl center Nick Mangold usually protects the New York Jets quarterbacks, but now he's being credited for protecting his New Jersey community after making a 911 call when he spotted thieves trying to break into his cars.
That call, placed at 5:30 a.m. on August 23, helped to end a crime spree involving 48 burglaries of unlocked cars, concentrated in Chatham Township and Chatham Boro.
Mangold called 911 after hearing his car alarm and finding his garage door open. Madison police stopped a vehicle in the area and took five suspects into custody.

Go Buckeyes! Job well done Nick!
“I dare say if obama had a son”
The odds are stacked in your favor.
What a MAN!! WoooHoooo!
He wore a hat and he called 911. That’s Bravery right there.
I read the AllBullCrap article at the link, and there is no mention of the brave police officers who risked their lives to protect this strokes personal property.
This Mangold should get a medal for calling 911.
It’s Jersey. He’s lucky he won’t be charged with a hate crime for dialing 911
What’s the definition of mass confusion?
Father’s Day in the Black Community.
Bada boom boom!
you forgot to take your medication again, didn’t you?
I’m pretty certain that I found one of the adults’ photos, and, well, no surprises there, although no doubt he was just turning his life around.
Youbetcha, I just plumb stopped taking that blue pill that’s so popular.
