AUSTIN - A judge refused Thursday to block the removal of a statue of Confederacy President Jefferson Davis from a prominent spot on the University of Texas campus, rejecting arguments likening the move to cultural atrocities committed by Islamic extremists in the Mideast.

Once all the statues and place names have been removed it is time to start excision of offensive materials and persons and organizations from the history books. Slavery must be memorialized and seared into the national consciousness and conscience but the war that ended it must be excised and all reference to anyone that ever any southerner might have respected must disappear from the literature and from memory. The History bơks must all highlight the glorious resistance of the Democrat Party to slavery and castigate the dastardly southern Republicans and white people who perpetrated it.

Our lousy sob president has succeeded in starting a second civil war. Don’t be surprised if it gets replaced with a black confederate soldier. That’s different ya know.

This country will soon surpass the restrictions of ‘1984’. This judge in is office until 2018, unless she can be impeached. But from what I’ve read, she is in a Leftists pocket within Texas, so seems pretty safe in her biased application of jurisprudence.

Judge Crump is destroying long established historical statues in Austin. The ISIS killers destroy statues and ancient historical sites in the Mid East.

What’s rpthe difference?

In this case, you have to look beyond the obvious reaction.

The statue is not being mothballed or melted down. It is being moved to a more appropriate area of campus. Jefferson Davis has no ties to the University of Texas, nor Austin, and the presence in a prominent position has always raised eyebrows.

Yes, the move now is being made largely by liberals and confederate flag banners but the statue’s presence did not have any significance to state, city, or university history and, as time marches on, needed to be relocated so that room can be made for new honorees.

I’m very conservative but I have no objection to what is going on here.

1) Your decorum is lacking.

2) “True Southerners” owe little to a defeated Confederate president.

3) Way to represent OHIO, troll.

American ISIS destroying history. Ignorance is bliss, we’ll just hid everything and it will all go away. A little like children playing peek-a-boo.

I guess we’ll be burning history books pretty soon.

The only southerner offended by Jeff Davis is a liberal southerner. GFY!
