Jeb Bush Falls Into a Trap
New York Times ^ | 8/25/15 | The Editorial Board

Posted on 08/26/2015 5:22:58 AM PDT by jimbo123

Jeb Bush went to the border town of McAllen, Tex., on Monday to raise money and to talk about immigration, in English and fluent Spanish. Because the Republican presidential campaign has been so fixated on border security and the immigrant peril — thank you, Donald Trump — it was a chance to see how the supposed expert on this fraught subject handled it.

Short version: He was awful.

In less than 15 minutes, Mr. Bush managed to step on his message, to give Mr. Trump a boost and to offend Asian-Americans, a growing population that is every bit as important as Latinos in winning presidential elections. And he failed to give Latino voters any persuasive evidence that he had anything better to offer them than his opponents in a revoltingly xenophobic Republican campaign.

It may be time to offer this forlorn candidate some free advice. Although if he really is the smarter Bush, he knows these things already:

1. He should never let himself say the words “anchor babies” ever again.

This is why the democrats so badly want to run against Bush, or someone like him.

He dances to their tune so well. They won't even break a sweat beating him.

A hit piece setup as a Dear Abby piece. Couldn’t happen to a nicer liberal.

New York Times, reporting on Bush who is just ahead of Lindsey Graham, waste of space.

Looks like the Slimes and other Big Media are desperately gonna keep hammering the ol’ “Republicans are racist” meme .... it’s really all they’ve got, too bad it will backfire when all the white voters - and that’s 70% - flock to the Republican side!

it looked as if the grim-faced Mr. Bush had come to announce the arrest of Zorro.

That line made me think of Donald Trump being Batman. Then I realized that Ted Cruz makes a pretty good Zorro. Heck, he signed my book and his last name almost looks like a Zorro slash the way he scribbles it.

Zorro and Batman running in 2016. Can Captain Ramon and Two-Face be far behind?

Oh Republicans, please listen to the NYT and never use the term anchor babies again. The NYT wants so much to help the republican party and America. All hail the undocumented immigrants to Nuevo Mexico!

"Bush said, (building the wall would) “create friction with our third-largest trading partner.”"

As long as Trump doesn't do anything to create friction with "our" largest trading partner, I'm okay with him.

¡Yeb! should go back to the country he loves.... Mexico.

We do not want him, or anybody else, to turn the USA into North Mexico.

He spends half his tme campaigning in a foreign language to foreigners.

He really does want to be the first President of North Mexico.

Its just the NYT, desperately trying to regain control of the narrative.

It'll be fun to see how hysterical they're willing to get.

Not the image Yeb wanted to portray ...... he's been Trumped & he's not going to be able to make a comeback (money flow is slowing down, too).

Hey, I’m an Rx Republican: revoltingly xenophobic!

If only we Rx-ers can live up to the “revolt” part.

It may be time to offer this forlorn candidate some free advice.

Every Republican should note which GOP'er the New York Times is giving advice to, and vote accordingly. This piece truly says it all about our ONE party system.

Jeb is always playing catch up with Trump. Sad really. He doesn’t have offense of his own. When he tries, his bench (intellect) is too shallow to carry off the play. He is terrible on audibles! If nothing else, Trump is exposing Jeb as inept.
