Another Lois Lerner secret email account uncovered

Judicial Watch has uncovered a secret email account linked to official business that was used by Lois Lerner, the IRS executive who took the Fifth Amendment and retired to an estimated $100,000 a year retirement income. The effect of using a secret email account – in this case, Lerner’s email account was in the name of Toby Miles – is to prevent Freedom of Information Act inquiries from uncovering the official information contained in the secret emails. In toehr words, it is a way for a government official to deny the public its right to see how the government is operating.

Stephen Dinan reports in the Washington Times:

Lois Lerner had yet another personal email account used to conduct some IRS business, the tax agency confirmed in a new court filing late Monday that further complicates the administration’s efforts to be transparent about Ms. Lerner’s actions during the tea party targeting scandal.

The admission came in an open-records lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a conservative public interest law firm that has sued to get a look at emails Ms. Lerner sent during the targeting.

The IRS, years into the scandal investigation, has yet to turn over the official emails contained in the Toby Miles account to Judicial Watch, but says that it is working toward doing so. The IRS’s lawyer, Jeffrey Klimas,  may be playing it cute in its dealings with Judge Emmett Sullivan, the federal judge also handling Judicial Watch’s FOIA suit in the Hillary Clinton email scandal:

Using a secret email account to conduct official business should be considered prima facie evidence of a crime.

The only question I have about the IRS scandal at this point is why isn’t Louis Lerner in jail yet?

The mere fact that it exists and was used for official mail should be enough to send her to jail.
Oh, well.

"The IRS’s lawyer, Jeffrey Klimas, may be playing it cute in its dealings with Judge Emmett Sullivan,"

If I was this judge I would say I was tired of this and put him in jail until his people in his office delivered the relevant information.

Handling any government information on any non-government system IS a crime. Unless the data has been identified as public information.

Even unclassified; For Official Use Only, or Sensitive but Unclassified is only handled on authorized systems/channels.

The specific regulations violated depend on the agency involved.

I have an even BIGGER question — Lois Lerner and Eric Holder were both held in contempt of Congress.

When you are in contempt of court, you are put to jail.

What happens to somebody if he/she is held in contempt of Congress?

Is this simply a political way of saying :” You’re a bad girl”?

THEN WHAT?

Probably also used private email to communicate with the DNC about targeting people. Maybe used code for actions in case such email was found as well. King of like Capone.

A year ago today, Dept. of Justice attorneys repping the IRS assured us that there were no missing Lerner e-mails.

So they were either lying—like their client IRS commissioner Koskinen—or they breached their duty as agents to the their principal, the United States (that would be you and me) to conduct a proper investigation before reaching any conclusions and fully disclose.

I want any crook touching this IRS tar baby held responsible.

But I’m sure the GOP will follow up on this .... crickets

Go Trump & Cruz. Anyone here with any better ideas, feel free to share.

The “do nothing congress” should pass a ANOTHER law making it illegal for politcians to use the IRS as a weapon against their political enemies. LOL!

Why?

The worst part isn’t even that corrupt officials are using secret emails. I expect those antics from them.

The worst part is that when this stuff is exposed, nobody cares. Maybe a couple guys in Congress whine about it for the cameras, but nothing ever happens, so it is obvious that everyone in government thinks this behavior is acceptable.

Either everyone in the government is corrupt, or they all believe that corruption is inevitable and unstoppable at this point.
