"Luntz conducted a focus group aired live on Fox News immediately following the first GOP debate early this month"

Why is this old article being recycled?

The grassroots did NOT abandon the GOPe. It was the exact opposite.

" ... They don't realize how the grassroots have abandoned them," Luntz continued.
In part because Luntz kept telling the GOP that it had widespread support. Well Frank, you sure fooled them!

The GOP knows the public sentiment. It has feelers out continuously, and gets plenty of unsolicited criticism. It KNOWS the people are angry, but has reliably been able to pull the "other party is worse" card, and induce people to support the GOP on the basis that the GOP is "marginally better."

In general, "marginally better" is good enough. That is, until an alternative "much better" comes along.

Since the 2014 mid-term, more of Obama’s agenda has passed and been supported by Republican majorities in both houses than was passed when Reid/Dems had the Senate majority. Reid obstructed Obama more than McConnell has. Just what the hell did the Republican establishment think would happen? Did they think the base would give them a participation trophy and vote for them again? Boehner and McConnell have in absolutely no meaningful way represented the people who voted for Republicans nationwide.

“I want to put the Republican leadership behind this mirror and let them see. They need to wake up. They don’t realize how the grassroots have abandoned them,” Luntz continued.

Abandoned? Really? The Elite snobs in Washington have been kicking sand in our face going back to Trent (Vacant) Lott and Bob Dole. It went subsonic when Dubya was elected and Idiots like Dana Perino and Karl Rove pushed the agenda.

Fact is the Republican Establishment has gone over the cliff, attached to a wagon driven by the Chamber of Commerce/ Wall Street/Agribusiness.

If the Republican Establishment wanted the Southern Border closed up tight they would have done in years ago. John Boehner has been known to hand out campaign checks to members in the well of the House just before a vote. They don't. They want cheap labor, open borders and live off the HUGE campaign donations those entities hand out.

There was a segment a week or two ago on The Five where Dana Perino was pointing her bitchy finger at others when ranting about Trump's Immigration policy saying 'Then you got tell a family they have to leave because there parents are illegal'. I wanted to reach into the TV and grab that arrogant Bitch by the throat and tell her, "Then you go tell these thousands of American Families they have to accept their Family members being brutally killed by these animals."

These Elitists will not change, they will only get more desperate in their attacks. Because in their mind they are the only ones that know what should be done. There is no debating with them, they are in fact Liberals. They have accepted the liberal philosophy and their tactics.

“Donald Trump is punishment to a Republican elite that wasn’t listening to their grassroots.”

The Republican elite STILL AREN’T LISTENING.

Kick ‘em in the balls and throw them out with the trash where they belong.

The GOPe jumped the shark when buying Black Democrat votes in the MS runoff to re-elect the fossil, Thad Cochran, over the real conservative, McDaniel.

They gloated, along with their bankrollers, the Chamber of Amnesty, that they had pulled off this obvious fraud, but in winning that battle they lost the war. Conservatives abandoned the Republican Party and its Democrat LIte candidates, and would not mind seeing it go the way of the Whigs. Most would vote for Trump as a third party candidate. They have only themselves to blame for their demise.

Luntz most likely selected his panel during the first GOP debate those people with anti-Trump sentiment to begin with. (Hint: none of the focus group participants are randomly picked up from the street, they've been screened.)

As per directed by FNC and establishment GOP.

They thought they could sink Trump right then and there.

The GOP-e is terrified of everyone—Obamba, DemocRATS, the MSM—everyone, that is, except the people back home who elected them.

All of Putz’s polling and dials can’t put the GOPe “Humptys” back together again.

The shell is hoplessly shattered and the rotten yokels inside have been exposed. They are dried up and smelly!

Better get a hose, a broom, and a trash bag. Cleanup needed on the GOPe aisle.

The media and the ‘experts’ have been busy convincing themselves that regular people are not fed up and not in revolt for at least 8 years. They have had to maintain a 24/7/365 all out blitzkrieg to convince themselves (and try to convince others) that the status quo is safe.

I don’t particularly care for Trump but I would love to see these jerks get their @sses handed to them on a plate.

That’s another thing they don’t get. In addition to the true believers, eight + long years of putting up with the non-stop lies/slander about regular people is enough to make many people vote for anybody who would put the liars and slanderers in their place.

You can only lie/slander/insult people for so long before there is a backlash.
