With a bloodshot eye, a cut on his head and his arm in a sling after surgery to reattach his thumb, Spencer Stone, a 6ft 2in off-duty airman and martial arts fan, looked fatigued but relieved to be alive as he slowly came to terms with his new surprise status of American hero.
“It feels very unreal, it feels like a dream,” said the quietly spoken 23-year-old as he sat amid the gold leaf and sparkling chandeliers of the US ambassador’s residence in Paris. He was speaking for the first time about how he and his two best friends from childhood had tackled a heavily armed gunman on a high-speed train from Amsterdam to Paris. Grabbing the gunman in a chokehold and battering him unconscious, they averted what could have been carnage in the packed carriages.
The three friends, who grew up together in California, had been snoozing in their first-class seats on Friday evening when they heard a noise that sounded like shattered glass behind them and saw a shirtless man coming into the carriage with a Kalashnikov. Stone took the biggest risk as he ran forward 10 metres to tackle him.

Four brave men in total, three Americans and one Brit. And France has already awarded all four the Legion of Honor.

Interesting to read this in the Guardian, GB’s HARD left rag. They are normally 100% pro jihad. I guess in this one instance, they have to play it straight and pretend to celebrate along with everyone else.
I thought that was interesting as well. Sometimes facts are the news and this time they decided to stick to those facts.
I wonder how long it will take Obama’s military to charge these brave men with being too rough on that poor muslim man, and charge our brave men with “cruelty and drum them out of the military with a dishonorable discharge. That would not surprise me. I read on, Free Republic I believe, that Obama is letting muslims in by the hundreds, but the Christians who want to come from the war torn areas in the middle east, no way.

I know what you mean. Often when I hear the words ‘’train robbery’’ I often think of someone robbing the entire train, you know, locomotive and all.

We both know that Reagan would have personally greeted these brave men at the airport when they returned to the United States. Obama will probably instead send them a tax bill for the metal value of their French Legion of Honor awards.
