I very much enjoy our discussion. Unfortunately, I have to get to bed, but I promise to get back to you tomorrow. Let me leave you with this. Away from America, from Jakarta to China, South America to Asia To Africa to Europe, there are more shirts worn relevant to soccer than all American sports put together 500,000 times.

As always,

keep smiling .

Philip.

In other words when you travel the world, Americans have a huge disadvantage, if they can't talk soccer (football)

I’m sure there are, but again, soccer from WHERE? That’s the point you keep deliberately ignoring. It’s not the sport, it’s the location. To use your own parlance NOBODY in Jakarta CARES about French soccer. I don’t think we’re in anymore disadvantage than any other traveler. Somebody from America is no less likely to be able to discuss Jakartan soccer than somebody from England. And somebody in Jakarta is no more likely to know anything about the Premier than the NFL.

Soccer the SPORT is international. Outside of FIFA soccer LEAGUES are not.
