PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Friday declared his frontline troops in a "quasi-state of war" and ordered them to prepare for battle a day after the most serious confrontation between the rivals in years.

South Korea's military on Thursday fired dozens of artillery rounds across the border in response to what Seoul said were North Korean artillery strikes meant to back up a threat to attack loudspeakers broadcasting anti-Pyongyang propaganda.

I have a good friend who is in the army. He's being transferred to South Korea in November. I hope he's not being sent into a hot war. When it finally comes to all out war on that peninsula I believe it will be really hot. Nuclear hot.

Prayers for everyone involved...our troops and the Korean people.

In June 1950, North Korean armies invaded across the 38th parallel. The United States of America led the U.N. in the repulsion of the N.K. forces. HARRY TRUMAN led the United States.
In August, 2015 ———Oh Oh.

Yestersay they said WAR, but today they downgrade to QUASI-war.

Other than the mines and shells this is suddenly looking a little like your run-of-the mill,”Sea of Fire” bloviation.

They want MONEY.

And tons of food.

They`re making TONS of meth up there, I heard. Women of their political elite even use it for DIETING.

Sick, huh..?

When I was first stationed in Korea, we got a briefing on the situation. Essentially both sides have all sorts of artillery and rockets, and a hot war would most likely begin with a long artillery exchange. Of course, all the barracks and motor pools are already dialed in as targets (the range of modern artillery fire has surpassed the buffer zone that is the DMZ).

One of Rumsfeld’s little talked about moves was to reduce the US military presence near the DMZ - precisely because the troops there could get barraged before we even knew a war was on. But we still have thousands of troops there - I hope this simmers down.
