Saudi MERS infections soar ahead of hajj pilgrimage

Riyadh (AFP) - MERS coronavirus infections have soared in Saudi Arabia ahead of the hajj pilgrimage, killing three people and forcing a Riyadh hospital to close its emergency ward, officials and newspapers said Thursday.
Its symptoms can include fever, coughing and shortness of breath. There are no approved vaccines against MERS, which is believed to originate in camels.

there are always deaths for a stampede.....at the “hajj” as crazed muslims race cpinterclockwise around the kaba stone...
this promises to be even more problematic...as all the “pilgrims” need to inspire panic....is to hear someone start a coughing fit..and race towards the exits!!

The practice of drinking camel urine facilitates a faster spread of this disease as its passed through urine. MERS is far more dangerous than is Ebola as MERS is transmitted through respiratory droplets.
