Ashley Madison didn't verify emails, so you literally could make it up.

Nothing to stop you from putting POTUS@whitehouse.gov in the email field when you signed up.

The hackers did also release billing details, and that's the more concrete stuff that will tie people (like Duggar) to the accounts.
