Greece has pleaded for help to deal with the daily influx of migrants arriving on its shores as it is revealed more than 100,000 refugees made their way to Europe in just a month.

New data has revealed 21,000 refugees and migrants arrived in Greece last week alone, leaving the country's unprepared registration system struggling to deal with the growing crisis.

Almost 110,000 people crossed into Europe through unofficial channels in July, compared to just 70,000 people in June. Germany has revealed it expects to register 750,000 refugees this year, compared to just 203,000 claims last year.

The figures released by Frontex, also show the number of detections between January and July reached nearly 340,000, compared to 123,500 in the same period last year and 280, 000 in all of 2014.

Nope. By far the greatest number are muslims fleeing the crap holes they have created, and will insist on recreating in Europe.

They are headed to Germany because Germany has the most generous benefits for refugees in all of Europe. If they were truly anything other than economic refugees why would they not simply walk across the border into Turkey where it is safe and stay there rather than risking their lives crossing the Aegean from Turkey into Greece? Much like Central American “refugees” crossing Mexico into the US for the goodies rather than simply walking a few miles next door into Nicaragua where it is safe and gang free.

That certainly is true of a large number of Christians from Syria, Eritrea and Ethiopia (Orthodox and Coptic, mostly). How large a percentage of the total, however, is anybody's guess. But there's enough of them in the Calais camp (trying to get across to the UK) to have built their own shack church. Incidentally the BBC is broadcasting from there an episode of its popular Sunday-afternoon hymn-singing show Songs of Praise.
