Republicans Spending Early to Boost Chances to Keep Senate
Rollcall ^ | August 19, 2015

“Helping to shape the environment early is a lesson learned from 2012 that we applied, along with many others, effectively in 2014,” said Rob Engstrom, national political director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has so far spent nearly $2.7 million in six Senate contests across the country. “It’s no longer Election Day, it’s election year.”

Of the millions the Chamber has spent, almost all of it has gone toward positive advertising on GOP incumbents or candidates including Sens. Mark S. Kirk of Illinois, Patrick J. Toomey of Pennsylvania, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and John McCain of Arizona. Kirk, Toomey and Ayotte all face re-election in states Obama won twice.

Incumbent protection is the goal. Challenges in primary is not an angle in this story. But I bet it will be claimed only the incumbent can keep a particular seat.

I have been getting at least one letter in the mail every day to donate to NRSC. Never have and certainly won’t do so now.

I don’t know how possible this is but consider the following. If patriots can elect 2/3 conservative majorities to both Houses of Congress in 2016, then Congress will have the power to override presidential vetoes (1.7.2). And if such was the case, then for many purposes it wouldn’t matter who gets elected president in 2016 because Congress would be running the country.

But I’ll also point out that one of the very few powers concerning domestic issues that the states have actually delegated to Congress, expressly via the Constitution, is the power to regulate the US Mail Service (1.8.7), most other federal spending / regulatory programs unconstitutional imo. So maybe patriots could work with a conservative Congress to peacefully “force” Congress to surrender 10th Amendment-protected powers that the feds have been stealing from the states for the last 60+ years back to the states.

That’s basically the bottom line. They vote to pass unconstitutional bills that give their states unconstitutional funding.

You can tell the GOPe is peeing their pants...

They know that now we know that they can’t pull the wool over our eyes anymore and we are going to call them on it...

Thanks Trump/Cruz 2016

All of the so called conservative members of this forum couldn't agree amongst ourselves who would be conservative enough to fulfill your wish.

We once had both houses AND the president, something we were told over and over again, is what we needed, and what happened? More liberalism.

I remember when Newt lost the house. The reason he lost was because they decided not to campaign on issues...The Reason? Because Newt said history dictated that the party in power, stayed in power...He forgot to tell the voters.

The title says:

The article says:
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has so far spent nearly $2.7 million in six Senate contests across the country. “It’s no longer Election Day, it’s election year.”
Which really says it all right there.
