Convicted national security leaker Chelsea Manning was found guilty Tuesday of violating prison rules and will receive three weeks of recreational restrictions at the Kansas military prison where she’s serving her 35-year sentence, her attorney said.
The transgender Army private was accused of having a copy of Vanity Fair with Caitlyn Jenner on the cover and an expired tube of toothpaste, among other things. Her attorney, Chase Strangio of the American Civil Liberties Union, said in a news release that Manning was convicted of all charges after a closed four-hour disciplinary board hearing in which she had no counsel.
Manning received 21 days of recreational restrictions limiting access to the gym, library and outdoors. The maximum punishment she could have faced was indefinite solitary confinement.
It’s beginning to look like this one just has a hard time playing by the rules, isn’t it?
In a perfect world, national security threat twins Chelsea Manning and Hillary Clinton would end up cell mates at Leavenworth. At her train wreck of a press conference about her email server today, Mrs. Bill looked like she was already trying to get comfortable in orange prison garb:
It would be a more appropriate pronoun until we get 55 more pronouns.
All I have to say is this about that. If Manning is reprimanded over a magazine, Hillary should get life imprisonment over her security leaks.
But this isn’t the real world and in the USA, those who are in the Democrat Party and breach security are rewarded.

Can someone please explain to me the crime of possessing an expired tube of toothpaste? After the expiration date, does it turn into hardened steel files, or det cord or something? Will possessing expired toothpaste someday soon become a no-knock offense for those of us on the outside?

How long until the prison gets sued, for censoring magazines given to inmates????
I’m sure there could be restrictions in the prison on pornography, for example. It would offend the sensibilities of the liberals if Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner’s magazine were considered pornographic and banned for that reason.

Thank you - as I was about to comment on the lunacy of these articles.
I hate changing their names to appease a tiny minority. The simple fact is that they’re nothing more than mentally ill cross dressers.

Interesting- what else was in that issue of Vanity Faire? There’s probably more to it that just his/her/its interest in another tranny.
As I recall there was a similar incident of Vanity Fair being used to transmit information to prisoners- I believe the prisoner in question was Ressam? Reid?, whatever, it was I think, the shoe bomber.
I think the part he was interested in was in the letters to the editor section and it had to do with testimony in the Moussaoui follow-on attack case. There was a big brouhaha over it and his lawyers were really spouting off.
