HuffPost: Planned Parenthood Videos Turn Abortion Debate Into a 'Ghoulish Spectacle'

The latest video against Planned Parenthood has surfaced, this time exposing the confiscation of baby parts without the mother’s consent. A normal commentator might chose to highlight the fact that Planned Parenthood’s denial of a mother’s choice over her baby’s remains betrays the foundation of the “pro-choice” movement. However, Meg Mott of the Huffington Post decided to lament the fact that these videos have transformed the discourse of abortion from a debate about women’s rights into a “ghoulish spectacle.”

Mott, a "gender studies" professor, begins her lament by pining for the days of Roe v. Wade when “protecting women's reproductive rights was understood as a means to ensure women's equality.” Mott claimed that the once reasonable discourse between the pro-life and pro-abortion factions has been silenced by a “spectacle” in which, Apparently, Mott couldn’t bother with a quick Google search. Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders had came out in defense of Planned Parenthood, saying, “I think a lot of this attack…comes from people who simply do not believe that a woman should have a right to control her own body. That's the motive."

In any case, who or what, according to Mott is responsible for this attack on this supposed reasonable argument for abortion?

No, it’s not morality. It’s not the pro-life movement. It’s Neoliberalism.

The next time a cop puts a beat down on a hood-rat, we’ll just discount any footage as turning the “police brutality debate” into a violent spectacle so we should pretend it doesn’t exist...

Yep, it must be the video, not the ghouls dissecting live babies who have created the spectacle.

And whose fault is that Miss Meg? Oh golly, certainly not PP, right? Why, they are simply the victims here, right?

The whole argument that abortion “makes women equal” is ridiculous on its face ... and dangerous.

To accept this argument you have to accept that society can legitimately consider a woman who is pregnant, or who has children, is not equal in the first place and so can be discriminated against ... but men who have children are a higher level of citizen legitimately having more rights than women with children.

And if this is true, why not fight that battle on a civil rights basis? No, feminists chose not to fight that battle. So they really do not believe in equality between men and woman at all. They are basically saying that women, in order to be equal in society, must not have children. But men can have children and be a full citizen.

Wonder how the dolts at Huffing and Puffington would react to videos of dolphin or gorilla fetuses being aborted with the tissue harvested and sold for “research” purposes.

See, that is the thing that alarms me. The telling story here isn't the demented practice of selling carved up babies as a commodity. Any one with an once of morals can tell you that is wrong. The telling story is the swath of people going about basically say, "eh, it's no big deal", and defending defending the practice. This is what our country has come to when these people are allowed a seat at the discussion table at all.
