Protests follow Scott Walker on campaign trail - "he wears their hostility as a badge of honor"
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ^ | August 17, 2015 | Craig Gilbert

......"I think this was the first time outside of Wisconsin where he's been kind of surrounded by protesters as he's leaving a place and where it appears he's been a little boxed in," said Scott Foval, one of the protesters and a Madison activist with the liberal group People for the American Way.

Foval's group is one of several on the left that flock to events by GOP candidates and try to make them answer questions on their issues of choice.

"We're bird-dogging all of them,"Foval said. But he said Walker is a "particular" magnet because of the way he wears their hostility as a badge of honor.

"A lot of people are spooked by him. He has been running on this(theme of)'Oh, they protest me. I'm the toughest governor,'"Foval said.

"He has a unique quality of attacking working people,"said Anthony Caldwell,a spokesman for Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union in Ohio, which was a major part of the Cleveland deli protest.

"It was a natural fit,"Caldwell said of the anti-Walker demonstration, citing Ohio's own battle over collective bargaining that paralleled Wisconsin's(but turned out in labor's favor)....

Walker constantly reminds Republican audiences of the "100,000 protesters" he faced in Madison, using a number at the high end of official crowd estimates to bolster his point.

"I hope people see it in my state, even in the big challenges I took on when I had over 100,000 protesters in and around our capital, trying to do what I thought was the right thing," he said in the Cleveland debate Aug. 6. "It wasn't just how I took on those political battles. It was ultimately how I acted. Not responding in kind. Not lashing out."

Demonstrators still gather each weekday during the lunch hour at the Wisconsin Capitol, singing pro-union, anti-Walker songs, as they have for 41/2 years...

Maybe Walker should go home and revel in his run in Wisconsin as he's flopped nationally. Latest Fox poll has Trump beating him by a factor of more than 4x. And Iowa by 2x. Heck, Carson beats him.

Yes, time to go home, spend time with family, and enjoy a few Harley rides before the snow falls.

Don’t forget the sales at Kohl’s. I hear they are selling sweaters - made in China of course.

I urged his being drafted in 2012 for President when he was the highest-profile Republican with sky-high approvals from the base fresh off his recall victory. If he had run then, he’d be President now. Sadly, 2016 is not his anymore. No shame in returning back to Madistan and to keep implementing and doubling-down on a Conservative agenda in Wisconsin.

I believe Walker is a good man, and an honest one. I also believe this just might not be what he is supposed to do after his governorship. Something will open up for him, as it looks like this isn’t going to pan out.

A group of activists “stalking” and harassing a lpresidental candidate. Shouldn’t the Secret Service get involved?

Walker does have an opening if he isn’t given a Cabinet post in the Trump Administration, and that’s blasting the execrable Communist lesbian junior Senator out of her seat. No Republican has won it since Joe McCarthy won his 2nd and last term in 1952, and that’s way too long.

"Working" people would be at their jobs... working.

Yahoos are chasing politicians around with preprinted signs.

Cantor used the same tactic of having supposed ‘protesters’ bird-dogging him before his primary.

He too lost.
