I think that's a huge problem. Even folks of different beliefs can have a sense of what is intrinsically wrong. That's one of the things I tried to tell my cousin. It's not Republicans trying to tell people how to live, it's a matter of right vs wrong and of the mistaken notion that of it feels good, one should do it. There is no true freedom without the law- God's Law!
Some degrees of sin can kill natural affection, which is what the bible says.
Once natural affection is killed, all manner of weird things that cut against it become all the easier. They were always possible, but now they are easier.
Correct, this is not “Republicans telling people what to do.” It is warnings about how reality is architected. It is yet Christendom’s job not so much to be a police to the sinful world as to be an ambulance to it.
HT, you couldn't be more right. My Mom used to quote Scripture when It said, In the end times, men's hearts will grow cold. It broke mine to hear, "I don't care" from one so close to me, all our lives; who was kind and generous of heart, and who always was ready to stick up for those he thought were treated unfairly. I know evil has existed since the beginning of time, but to hear a family member speak so, just broke my heart...

My Friend, that was very wise, and gentle. He wasn't like this until he "came out" and enthusiastically embraced the lifestyle and the "ideals" it represents. He's been handicapped most of his life, yet as an adult, that was one cause he never embraced. I've suggested it to him, and all one can do sometimes is to plant a seed. I think it may bring him some healing. But this lifestyle has closed his mind to all else.
Your analogy of the ambulance was spot on. I would never abandon him, and I'll not stop this from our keeping in contact- again, you never know when a seed will take root. Thank you. You've made me feel better, and given me a different perspective- one that will make it a little easier to deal with how he feels. Maybe I could be more compassionate, as well, and keep him in prayer, as I have since I was little - now all the more...
God bless you, HT, and thank you so much!
