Trump willing to spend $1 billion on presidential bid
CBS News ^ | 08/15/2015 | By REENA FLORES

Real estate mogul Donald Trump certainly has enough money to pay for his presidential bid -- and he's willing to foot the whole bill, even if it costs him a billion dollars.

When a reporter asked Trump, just outside the Iowa State Fair grounds on Saturday, if he would throw a billion of his own money into the campaign, he answered without hesitation.

"I would do that, yeah," Trump responded. "If I had to."

And in answer to a question about his campaign's budget, Trump said that it was "irrelevant."

"You saw I make $400 million a year," Trump replied, "so what difference does it make?"

Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump hit the Iowa State Fair Pointing to his baseball cap -- the same red "Make America Great Again" hat he's worn on numerous campaign stops -- Trump reiterated that he'd do whatever it took to "make the country great again. That's all I want to do. That's much more important."

Some things are more important than money.

And? His lowest net worth is 4.5 billion. I suspect he could survive on 3.5 billion easily. However, I suspect he is worth more, also I also suspect his presidential run is adding to his net worth every minute. But he is getting so much free press and manipulating the message, I doubt he would have to spend that much.

And no, I am not a big supporter of him. If he was a bit more conservative and consistent he would get my vote in a heartbeat. I would love to have a strong businessman running this country like a business and telling the news media to shut their traps. It is possibly the only thing that could save it.

Yet his site is taking donations, after saying he wouldn’t need them.

He said he doesn’t need money from big donors. I’m sure he is fine with grassroots support.

How is your candidate doing?

"He said he doesn’t need money from big donors. I’m sure he is fine with grassroots support."

What he said was, "I don't need anyone's money."

"How is your candidate doing?"

Fine, thanks. While the tabloid campaign blares on for now, my candidate is in every state, laying his ground game...he's even in Guam.

Working smart, effectively, and working to win.

Usually millionaires/billionaires can only liquidate a fraction of their net worth into cash. If a man can actually liquidate that much, he must own a great deal more in his net worth, which is counted using everything from stocks owned to property, to money in the bank.

Bluff move to scare Bush big donors into thinking that dropping more cash into his SuperPACs is a waste of money.

So far Trump has been coasting off of “earned media” and hasn’t laid out more than a couple of $Million of disclosable campaign expenses. Not including the $Millions his shell companies are paying people in foreign countries to FB/Twitter/Blog/Internet Poll astroturf. That probably is his biggest campaign expense and by necessity has to remain “off the books.”

Don’t care about Guam. The country is what matters, and he’s on it.

“I don’t need anyone’s money.”

Can you point out to me the part in the quote where Trump stated he wouldn’t accept small donations? I can’t seem to locate it.

There is a difference between not needing and not accepting, but then again you already knew that.

You know your candidate is circling the toilet when Guam is part of his strategy.

Just google his name and the quote I listed. It will come up.

“Anyone” includes small donations, does it not? Unless you want to try and redefine the word “anyone.”

You’re twisting yourself into a pretzel to try and support your lying Democrat. That kind of thing tends to happen to conservatives when they toss out their principles.

It has been said he has well over 400 million liquid cash. Who knows what he saved and stashed over the years, but borrowing against assets if he really wanted too should not be much of a problem.

So you can’t point out where he said he wouldn’t accept small donations? This is a put up or shut up moment basically.

And saying you don’t need something doesn’t mean you won’t accept it. I don’t need anyone to buy me a beer at the bar, but if someone offers me one, I just might accept it.

How is the weather in Guam this time of year? I heard it’s going to be very important for the primary season.

Listen here, “skippyjon”, you haven’t been here long enough to be telling ANY Freepers to shut up, although some of you Trumpsters like to do so when you get facts thrown at you.

“Anyone” means one thing. You can’t redefine it, but like the left, you want to try. It’s not going to wash.

I notice you won’t respond to the other part of my statement, which is that Cruz is laying his ground game in every state. Kind of hard to write that one off, isn’t it, you little troll?

The man is thorough. Lay back and watch.

So, where did Trump state he wouldn’t accept small donations? I still haven’t seen that quote from you. It seems you’re just blowing smoke and getting a tad bit defensive. You know, desperation is a stinky cologne.

I would say that a lot was made on the stovk market investments. The big winners from the stock market account for a great fraction of the billionaires out there. If he has 400 million in cash, he could probably double that. People and companies often trade stocks for payment.
