I know that among Free Republic readers and commenters there are some very experienced and distinguished veterans and former and current Military leadership . I invite their comments about WHY these 36 ladies and gentlemen would come out in support of Obama's Iran deal like this ? I was investigating exactly who each of these individuals are , what they do now , and what organizations they presently represent or work with . Very enlightening . I encourage you to do the same ; IF this matter interests you . It interests me . Where is the listed of esteemed military and defense figures that opposes the deal ? Let's compare careers and their aftermaths .

Mine is short.

Obama asserts that without the Iran Arrangement, they will have nukes within 6 months.

Obama is OBLIGATED to tell the world EXACTLY what part of the arrangement stops them.

Taguba is best known for authoring the Taguba Report, an internal U.S. Army report on abuse of detainees held at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. The report was published, then leaked, in 2004. Taguba again made national headlines in June 2008 when he accused the Bush administration of committing war crimes in a preface to a report by Physicians for Human Rights on prisoner abuse and torture in American military prisons.
For his dedicated service in the military and his continued pursuit of enriching the next generation of leaders, AARP recently named Taguba as one of three “community thought leaders.”

It took the new Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Mike Mullen, less than 24 hours to dump one of the most disliked officers among the Navy’s top brass. Vice-Admiral Joe Sestak, an arrogant and obnoxious “bully-boy,” who delighted in being rude and unreasonable and getting away with it, found he was expendable the minute his mentor went out the door.

The military is full of people from all spectrums of society. It is a huge bureaucracy and there are many, many jobs which do not involve combat or leading men and women into harms way in all branches.

So, a very liberal individual can stay in one of those jobs for 25+ years, become political, seek to charm the right people, and advance.

Just because one has a general officer rating does not make them a dedicated, constitution loving individual. You have to look at their service record, and you have to look at the papers/publications they have made. You have to know who they are.

So, some of these people can simply be good liberals going along with the administration.

Others may simply be doing the “PC” thing because it is how they got along their entire career.

That probably covers the vast majority of them...and believe me, this admin will be pulling out all of the stops for one reason...to influence the vote in Congress. so they will look for and foist the opinions of such people on the Congress to influence the vote.

There may be some quislings and OTHERS who have backgrounds that can be used to get them to say what this admin wants them to say...but I bet the vast majority fall into the categories I listed above.
