Accepting funding federal funding of any sort makes states vulnerable to Washington’s whim. It would be impossible (for politicians) to say no to federal money for their constituents and those who did would be out of office PDQ. It’s time to re-think how the various governments work. The only programs that need federal funding are those that cannot be regulated by a state. Items that cross state borders, federal highways for instance, defense of the nation, another. But Planned Parenthood has NOTHING to do with state borders. Such an institution should be controlled by the local gov. If Vermont wants to kill babies and most if their voter base votes for it, the babies can be killed in Vermont. If Mississippi decides abortion is murder, and the voter base agrees...then there is no abortion in Mississippi. We the people should decide these issues, not some bureaucrat a thousand miles away physically and light years away politically!
