Over a decade ago, PBS had a slogan of “If we don’t do it, who will?”
I had a liberal friend spout that to me and she was quite livid when I said:
“The Learning Channel, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, Nickelodeon, CNN...”

I like the argument, but I would have to point out that TLC, TDC, and History now show pretty much nothing but reality shows and movies, rather than the reasonably informative and/or educational materials they once carried.
