I think that adds support for the position that he was being rude and cut himself off.
I can’t see him as a serious candidate, but I think the “clown” meme has been created by his detractors. Clearly he still operates as if he’s on a reality TV show and has to give the viewers what they want. That doesn’t let him show whether there’s a hint of a statesman in there.
From what I’ve seen he’s more of a boor. People put up with him because he’s rich. Otherwise he would not get invited to parties, including political ones.
But I don’t think clown is right at all, unless you meant Pennywise.
