When the bipartisan advocacy group United Against Nuclear Iran decided last week to mobilize opposition against the nuclear deal with Tehran, Gary Samore knew he could no longer serve as its president.
The reason: After long study, Mr. Samore, a former nuclear adviser to President Obama, had concluded that the accord was in the United States interest.
I think President Obamas strategy succeeded, said Mr. Samore, who left his post on Monday. He has created economic leverage and traded it away for Iranian nuclear concessions.
As soon as Mr. Samore left, the group announced a new standard-bearer with a decidedly different message: Joseph I. Lieberman, the former senator from Connecticut and the new chairman of the group.

Well, we’re about to see who’s correct. I’m not the least bit optimistic.
So this numb-nuts doesn’t believe that the agreement will do anything but delay Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons, & doesn’t believe that they’ll abide by the terms of the agreement & yet he’s for it?
I swear the world gets more insane with every passing day.
My guess is Mr. Samore joined the group so he could leave it. A classic Alinsky tactic.
Given his background, that sounds like the modus operandi.
Brought to you by the commie NY TIMES.
That's as lefty as you can get.
He's looking for a job with Obama/Soros.
“Mr. Samore, a former nuclear adviser to President Obama, “
Would love to hear what those concessions are.
Would love to know how the inspection regimen, as
Structured, guarantees compliance.
[[Yet it is Mr. Samores quiet departure as president of the organization that is resonating]]
How does a “quiet departure” make it to the NYT?
From 2009 to 2013, he served as President Barack Obama’s White House Coordinator for Arms Control and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), commonly referred to as the WMD “czar”.[2][3] In the position, Samore “served as the principal advisor to the President on all matters relating to arms control and the prevention of weapons of mass destruction proliferation and WMD terrorism, and coordinated United States government activities, initiatives, and programs to prevent proliferation and WMD terrorism and promote international arms control efforts.”[1]
From 1996 to 2000, Samore served as Special Assistant to President Bill Clinton and Senior Director for Nonproliferation and Export Controls at the National Security Council.[4]
From 2006 to 2009, Dr. Samore was Vice President for Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in New York, where he held the Maurice R. Greenberg chair and directed the David Rockefeller Studies Program. Before joining CFR, Dr. Samore was vice president for global security and sustainability at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation in Chicago, and from 2001 to 2005, he was Director of Studies and Senior Fellow for Nonproliferation at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London.
Before the National Security Council, Dr. Samore worked on nonproliferation issues at the Department of State. In 1995, he received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service for his role in negotiating the 1994 North Korea nuclear agreement. Prior to the State Department, he worked at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the Rand Corporation.
I wonder how much the bass turd got to sell out. Dirtbag.
What “nuclear concessions”? Hanoi Boi said that Iran gave up on trying to get the bomb back in 2004. Which makes one ask, if Hanoi Boi is telling the truth, why do we need a “deal”? These maggots all have a death wish for America, including this dirtbag.
As I understand it, the centrifuges reveal the intent.
The types of centrifuges they utilize are needed for nuclear weapons, not nuclear reactors.
They are creating weapons grade plutonium.
Is this other people’s understanding as well?
Why, we, we...we shall be forced to...to...to NOTIFY the AUTHORITIES, sir; yes, indeed, to...NOTIFY the AUTHORITIES!!!
That’ll get ‘em quakin’ in their pointy little boots, oh, yessiree.
