I saw a CNN article about some Luntz-like panel of Iowans after the first debate who overwhelmingly said Carson won. This would seem to confirm that Iowans like Carson. They went for Huckabee and Santorum before. So they seem to like softspoken, "nice" guys the most.

The CNN article about the poll says Trump is in 4th place with "very conservative" voters. I used to think FR was very conservative, but apparently it's leaning to the left lately.

[Trump] runs behind Carson and about even with Walker and Cruz among those who describe themselves as "very conservative" (25% Carson, 15% each Cruz and Walker, 12% Trump), and he runs even with Carson among evangelical Christians (18% each Trump and Carson, 12% Cruz, 11% Huckabee, 10% Walker).

“I used to think FR was very conservative, but apparently it’s leaning to the left lately.”

FR, like all other conservative entities, has had enough of pretend-conservative politicians, who talk one way to get elected - then vote for the same GOPe leaders and vote to fund executive amnesty.

I guess we’re thinking Trump couldn’t be worse and might be better.

At this point, I’m just enjoying how he is shaking up the media and the establishment. THAT is his appeal.
