Gilbert moved to Michigan in 2014 with actor husband Timothy Busfield (Revenge of the Nerds).
In June of 2015, it was revealed that IRS had filed a tax lien against Gilbert for $360,000 in unpaid taxes.

“Little Repo on the Prairie”
Her husband was born in Michigan. I think their failing Hollywood careers brought them to his home state.
The history on this kind of stuff is not good.
Nancy Kulp (Jane Hathaway from The Beverly Hillbillies) moved back to Pennsylvania to run as a Democrat, got her head handed to her by Republican Bud Shuster (with some help from hilarious radio ads featuring Buddy Ebsen. Kulp never spoke to him again).
Joe Flynn (Capt. Binghamton from McHale’s Navy) moved back to his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio to run as a Republican (yeah, we know how THAT worked out...he passed away not long afterwards)
More recently Clay Aiken got stomped in North Carolina.
Of course we did elect a Gopher (Love Boat) and a Cooter (Dukes of Hazzard) to Congress at one time.
Oh yeah...I forgot how easy it is to make a million dollars.
$360,000? Wow, that’s not peanuts.
