Yeah, I watched it religiously as a kid when it was on in prime time. When they did one of the follow up tv movies where they blew up the town, I was in tears. :-(

They couldn’t do “The Waltons” today, either.

Grandpa and Grandma Walton’s actors were both homosexual. Put that into their characters and you have the Walton’s reboot!

I don’t think you could do “Full House” today (without the obvious, Danny Tanner and his lover Joey take in Danny’s kids after the single female friend he donated sperm to dies, homophobic uncle Jesse tries to stop them!). I recently watched a few episodes of “My Wife and Kids” circa 2001 cause I was bored, I don’t think you make that today either. Hell, even “Married With Children” is too wholesome (and well written).

Family sitcoms have a few rules now. Chief among them seems to be “dad has to be Homer Simpson retarded”, “mom has to carry around dad’s balls in her purse”, and “someone has to be queer”.

I remember that episode. Some land Barron laid claim to Walnut Grove; they went scorched earth.

There’s a lesson right there.

“The Waltons”, 2015: Two male poofs, their poodles and adopted 3rd world kids, all living in a “green” housing development. One poof is in marketing, the other is an English Lit prof. at the local community college.

Gag.
